CARE Clubs - 704 student sign-ups! 😮🐾
A huge thank you to Dr. Sarita Brown-Mitchell who leads this Club work and all of our teacher leaders that run clubs every Thursday morning! Without your personal investment of time and resources, these clubs would not happen.
FMS CARE Clubs will begin on Thursday, September 19. Sign-ups will continue over the weekend and close on Monday, September 16. Club sizes are limited depending on the club and number of teachers involved. Students will be notified by September 18 if they are able to attend their club of choice. If students sign up for a club and miss more than 2 meetings, they will be removed from the club to allow for waitlisted students to join.
Fugett Band Members Join East for a Night
Friday's football game under the lights was picture perfect. The Fugett Band joined East's Band for the evening and played several songs in harmony. The band helped keep the crowd going in a low scoring affair. The game was a hard fought defensive battle, with the reinforced band providing some needed momentum.

6th Grade Message - Team Building Day Friday, September 20th!
Dear Students and Parents,
We wanted to let you know about an exciting event that will be happening Friday, September 20th! We will be having a 6th grade team building day here at school!!! We wanted to send a short note with some important information regarding the team building day!
In the morning we will be participating in curriculum based activities where A and B team students will be placed together in groups and go through a circuit of six different activities. 3rd, 4th, and 5th period will not be affected by the team building day.
Students will still have their Day 6 Unified Arts classes as well as lunch. In the afternoon we will be outside doing team building activities followed by soft pretzels thanks to the generosity of our PTO. If your child has a food allergy and cannot have soft pretzels, please feel free to send in a snack with your child. Please dress for the weather – we will be outside all afternoon!
Please bring a labeled water bottle. Make sure appropriate footwear is worn – NO FLIP FLOPS OR CROCS!!
Thanks! Sincerely, The Sixth Grade Staff

September is National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month
September is National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month. FMS will provide information and resources on how we can prevent suicide from occurring within our community throughout the next few weeks. On Tuesday, September 10th, it is World Suicide Prevention Day. This year’s theme is “Changing the Narrative”. It is important to discuss and acknowledge prevention and awareness and ways to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health. The awareness colors are purple and teal. We are asking students and staff to wear these colors (or anything that promotes kindness and mental health awareness) in support of World Suicide Prevention Day on Tuesday, September 10th. Please reach out to Mrs. Hess or Ms. Spano with any questions.
