Boys Golf
Congratulations to Rhett Turner, Jack Reynolds, Federico Montaner, and Nico McKinnerney on their 3rd place finish at the Montgomery Traditions Tournament at Walden Golf Course.
Girls Golf
Congratulations to our Girls Varsity Golf Team for winning their first tournament of the year at Sweetwater Country Club.
Makenzie Minshew got first place with a total score of -4.
Roberta Alvarez got second place with a total score of +5 and shot even day 2.
Band and Color Guard
We are so excited for our Cougar Pride Band on their US Bands Baytown Regional this weekend
They competed with 29 bands from across Houston - the Cougar Pride finished 4th place overall and won best visual in class IV.
The Tomball Colorguard placed first overall out of all bands in both Prelims and Finals competition, and won the best colorguard award in class IV and the best overall colorguard in Finals competition!
Way to Go Cougar Pride!!
State Champion Baseball Recognized
THS Baseball and Coach Rush were recognized at the Tomball Chamber October First Friday Luncheon. by Harris County Precinct 3 and Commissioner Ramsey.
State Championship Recognition along with Win #600 for Coach Rush!

Our Counselor Spotlight this week goes to Mr. Lemanczyk and Mr. Broadhurst!
We appreciate Mr. L. and Mr. B.’s unwavering support of our band students as they navigate challenges to reach their full potential. They both lead by example and foster a positive environment where students feel valued and empowered.

National Honor Society Teacher of The Month
Congratulations to Mr. Tim Cifelli-Volmer on being awarded the Golden Torch by the THS National Honor Society recognizing him as NGHS Teacher of the Month
National Hispanic Heritage Month
National Hispanic Heritage Month is from September 15 to October 15 – National Hispanic Heritage Month traditionally honors the cultures and contributions of both Hispanic and Latino Americans as we celebrate heritage rooted in all Latin American countries. During this period, the United States recognizes the contributions and influence of Hispanic Americans to the history, culture, and achievements of the United States. Tomball High School celebrates National Hispanic Heritage Month and encourages our Cougars to embrace the contributions and influence of Hispanic Americans in the United States.

COLLEGE AND CAREER CORNER
- PSAT October 9th for all 10th and 11th grade - Good luck! Being prepared is always important. PSAT Practice
- Financial Aid Night - October 15th at 6 pm in the THS auditorium - Learn the financial aid and scholarship basics. Open to all grade levels, 11th and 12th grade highly encouraged to attend. Please park in the stadium parking lot and enter through the lower lobby doors.
- 2025-2026 FAFSA (for current seniors) is delayed - The FAFSA opening date will be delayed again this year to December 1st.
- 2024 College Leadership Workshop for 11th and 12th grade - October 19th at Rice University from 9 am to 4:30 pm. REGISTRATION REQUIRED BY OCTOBER 11TH. Event fee of $11 fee per participant (student or parent). Workshops on extracurriculars, financial aid, college admissions, essay feedback for seniors, college campus life and more. - DAR Good Citizen Award - Each year THS selects one senior for the DAR Good Citizen Award. Seniors who feel like they possess good citizenship qualities of dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism should apply to be considered for the nomination. Learn more about the application process to be considered. Deadline to apply to be considered for nomination is October 15th by 3:00 pm.
- HOBY Youth Leadership - Open to current sophomores! Each year THS sends one male and one female to the HOBY Youth Leadership conference. The conference will be held in June 2025 (dates TBA). To learn more about the program and apply to be considered for selection, click HERE. Deadline to apply to be considered for nomination is October 18th by midnight.
- Save the date! Tuesday, November 19th - Cougar Block College Fair from 9:00-9:45 am, sign-up required, details will be provided prior to event. Event for students only.
- Save the date! Wednesday, November 20th - College Knowledge Night from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Tomball Event Center

- Lone Star College Rep Visits - Our Lone Star College rep will be on campus twice each month throughout the year to help answer any questions students have about their program, admissions, etc. LSC has many great opportunities for our students. Seniors planning to attend LSC after graduation definitely need to sign-up for a visit! Click here to sign-up
Opportunities for Students with the College & Career Counselor
- College & Career Cougar Block Series - Open to all grade levels, sessions will be held during Cougar Block and cover a variety of topics from post-high school options, college rep panel, financial aid, military options, stress management, and more. Click here to sign-up
- C&C Donut Chat - Before school event once a month (updated) for students to chat with Mrs. Nichols, College & Career Counselor. Sign-up required as space will be limited, donuts will be provided. Dates & sign-up in student’s Schoology!
- College & Career Classroom Videos - Every other week, Mrs. Nichols will share videos for each grade level covering many college and career related topics throughout the year. Videos and presentation links will be shared in each grade level Schoology course for students to refer back to and parents to stay in the loop. Videos posted in grade level Schoology courses under 24-25 Classroom Videos & Slides section.
- Grade Level Schoology Courses - Each grade level will have their own Schoology course provided by Mrs. Nichols, College & Career Counselor. Here students will have information on events, event sign-up, C&C Classroom Video library, C&C Series information, rep visit sign-ups, and more. Parents do not need to do anything to join the course. Once the student joins, parents will have access through their own Schoology login. Information will be provided for parents who do not have accounts set up yet.
