Fox Families,
Happy New Year! I hope this message finds you and your family rested and rejuvenated after the holiday break. As we step into a new year, I am filled with excitement and optimism for all that 2025 has in store for our school community.
January is a wonderful time to refocus and set fresh goals, both academically and personally. In the coming weeks, our teachers will be guiding students through new lessons and activities designed to engage their curiosity and build on the skills they’ve already developed this school year.
I’d also like to remind families to review our updated winter weather procedures, especially regarding delays and closures. Please make sure your contact information is current so we can keep you informed. Use the link here to read the Cherry Creek process.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership. Here’s to a fantastic start to the new year!
Warm regards,
Ashley Gray

Student Council News:
Hello Fox Hollow families! We are excited to share with you some exciting news for the school in the next month. In December, we had the Fox Hollow Spelling Bee, Penguin Patch Holiday Shop, Rich Morrow Math Challenge, and Winter Break. Tyler (5th grade) won the spelling bee, followed by Chloe (4th grade) in second place, and Greyson (3rd grade) in third place. 5 awards were given to Fox Hollow at the Math Challenge. Coming up in January: In the new year, we are looking forward to Donuts With Dear Ones on the 17 of January at 7:30 a.m. as well as making new year's resolutions. We hope you have a wonderful January!
-Tyler, Jack, and Archer
Congrats to our Spelling Bee Winners!
Fox Hollow Volunteer of the Year:
Congrats to Jill Armayor, who is currently serving as the PTO President and has been a part of our PTO for the last 6 years. She has been instrumental in creating our community business sponsorship and works to find many ways to provide support to Fox. She has been selected as our Volunteer of the Year! We appreciate all that every volunteer does for Fox Hollow as we would be lost without every single one of you! Jill will be honored by Cherry Creek on Wednesday, Jan. 15.
Literacy Night!
Thank you to everyone that attended our Literacy Night! It was such a great way to learn new ways to support our kids in Literacy.
Congrats to our Staff Members that have recevied grants through CCSF!
Our choir's first performance in December!
Hello! Some of our classes are doing hockey, while some are doing lacrosse! Students are working on stick handling, passing, shooting on goals, and skills used in game play. Students who are doing lacrosse are seeing the similarities between lacrosse and hockey. The hand-eye coordination is improving each day!!!
Kindergarten students have been working all year on being able to say their full name. We have moved on to family names – not Mom and Dad, but Karen and Tom, for example. We are also working on knowing a phone number to call in case they would get separated from you in a store or something and addresses! As far as physical activity, students are working on throwing, catching, defending a target, sportsmanship, and teamwork. Ask them to tell you about the games they are playing!
Once again, here is your friendly reminder that we will have Field Day in May. Mark your calendars for Friday, May 9, 2025! This fun-filled day is a student favorite and we LOVE to have lots of parent volunteers for it! There will be more information about this in 2025!
Thank you!
Sabrina McKenna

Typing resources: If you are interested, a site that my own personal children used to learn to type is edclub.com and the product typingclub. The site is free and you can create an individual account for your child. The site has lessons and tracks progress. This is a great activity for all!

Health and Wellness Reminders from CCSD Health Services
More information can be found at The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE)
How Sick is Too Sick? / (¿Qué tan enfermo es demasiado enfermo?)
The best way to remain healthy and prevent illness from spreading is through good handwashing habits (washing hands for 20 seconds with soap and warm water after using the bathroom, blowing nose, sneezing/coughing, and before/after eating), getting vaccinated for preventable diseases, and staying home when sick!
Stay home when sick!
- If your student is not feeling well enough to take part in their usual activities, due to illness symptoms, they should stay home.
- If your student needs to be picked up from school, have a plan in place to pick them up as soon as possible.
Fever
- Defined as a body temperature over 100.4° F.
- Students may return to school after being 24 hours fever-free without the use of fever-reducing medication such as Tylenol (acetaminophen) or Motrin (ibuprofen).
Vomiting/Diarrhea
- Students may return to school 24 hours after the last episode of vomiting and/or diarrhea unless it is caused by an illness that requires them to stay home longer.
- If your student has a medical condition that causes them to have a baseline of spit-up, reflux, or loose stools regularly, notify your school nurse, so we can best support your student's success.
- Remind students to cough into their elbow, this helps keep the hands clean from illness and can decrease the spread of illness.
- Keep your student home if the cough is severe or uncontrolled.
- If a cough lasts longer than 2 weeks, we encourage checking in with your healthcare provider.
Lice
Signs of lice:
- Itching of the scalp, presence of live lice, eggs attached to the hair shaft, and/or small pinpoint scabs at the base of the hairline.
- If live lice are present, students may remain in school until the end of the school day; however, they cannot return until after receiving an approved pediculicide treatment per CDPHE guidelines.
- Reminder: lice is a nuisance and not a public health concern.
- This means it is not a reportable infectious disease, as it does not spread disease.
- It is not due to poor hygiene habits.
- We do not send notification letters home when cases of lice are present.
- We do not perform routine classroom-wide lice checks.
Vaccines
- Many childhood/school-aged illnesses can be prevented by receiving routine vaccines. Talk with your provider or school nurse for more information.
Wishing all students, parents/guardians, and staff a healthy school year!
