Let's Celebrate Black History Month!
February is Black History Month, a time to celebrate and honor the rich history, culture, and contributions of African Americans. To kick off our celebrations, we will be starting with Colors Week. Each day, students are encouraged to wear a specific color that represents different aspects of Black history and culture.
Colors Week Schedule:
- February 3: Wear Red - Symbolizing strength and resilience
- February 4: Wear Green - Representing growth and harmony
- February 5: Conferences
- February 6: Wear Yellow - Signifying hope and optimism
- February 7: Wear Black - Celebrating heritage and identity
February 3-March 14, 2025: OELPA (Ohio English Learning Proficiency Assessment) for grades K-8
February 5, 2025: K-8 Parent- Teacher Conferences (Early release for students)
February 8, 2025: Parent University - Fatherhood Table Talks at 10:00AM-12:30PM, Daniel E. Morgan School
February 14, 2025: Teacher Professional Development Day (No school for students)
February 17, 2025: President's Day (Facilities closed - No School)
March 6, 2025: Kindergarten Field Trip to the Playhouse Square
March 8, 2025: Parent University - Fatherhood Table Talks at 10:00AM-12:30PM, John Hay Campus
March 14, 2025: End of Marking Period 3

Say Yes! Cleveland
Support services are the cornerstone of Say Yes Cleveland. Every student and family can use some help at some time, which is why Say Yes Cleveland offers free support services to every student and family in all CMSD and partner charter schools.
A partnership with the Cleveland Metropolitan School District, eliminates the burden of paying for college tuition by providing every eligible CMSD graduate with a scholarship to attend a college, university, or accredited training program.
