FASFA Night - Tuesday, December 10th
Join us for FAFSA Night! Dec. 10th 6pm
FMHS Counselors invite current senior students (class of 2025) and parents to join us on December 10 for the FAFSA Night Presentation. Important information will be shared to help families understand FAFSA and the application process. Please note that the location changed, and the meeting will be in the FMHS Library.
TEXAS EDUCATION AGENCY (TEA) FAFSA Application GRADUATION REQUIREMENT
Students enrolled in 12th grade must do one of the following to graduate:
- Complete and submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
- Complete and submit a Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TASFA)
- Submit a Skyward OPT-OUT form – if you would like to Opt-Out of completing the FAFSA or TASFA for your senior, you can complete the Opt-Out form in Skyward Family Access under Online forms. WITH PARENT PERMISSION, THE COUNSELOR CAN COMPLETE THE OPT-OUT FORM IN SKYWARD FOR YOU.
Submitting a financial aid application Skyward Opt-Out Form does NOT prohibit a student from completing and submitting a financial aid FAFSA application at any time in the future.

Watch Your Deadlines
Be sure you are checking college application deadlines. Don't wait until the last minute. Allow ample time for supporting documentation such as transcript, letters, etc. to be requested and processed. Check your colleges for specific dates and requirements.

1. Please fill out this form: Counselor Recommendation Packet
2. Make sure you have chosen a deadline for each of the colleges you are applying to.
If you aren't sure if you need a Counselor Recommendation Letter, check your email. Your counselor has most likely emailed you requesting this form to be filled out.

Coach Willett is kindhearted, generous, and she goes out of her way to make sure her students are successful. She is an excellent communicator to parents, students, and counselors.

Mr. Liles goes above and beyond for students. He is friendly and gracious. His students often praise him by saying, “I can understand math now!”

Science Teacher
Ms. Uptmore is gentle and has the ability to reach students in meaningful ways to make lifelong connections. Students say they love her class. Even years after graduating, alumni say she inspires them.
LISD Education Foundation Scholarship!
Lewisville ISD Education Foundation Scholarships are awarded to graduating seniors to help them in their continued educational journey. Scholarships are awarded based on specific criteria established by donors. These criteria range from academic achievement and community involvement to success outside of academic ranking and career aspirations.
The 2024-2025 scholarship application will be open November 1, 2024 – January 10, 2025. All requested information must be received by LEF no later than 4:30 p.m. on January 10, 2025. For any questions, email Sherah Robinson at robinsonsl@lisd.net

We will have representatives from UNT’s GO Center back on our campus in January! They are here to help with any college questions, regardless of where you plan to apply to college. They send several representatives to our campus so this is a great opportunity to get your questions answered.

Checking Students Out of School Procedures:
Just a reminder that if anyone other than the parent or guardian listed in Skyward is picking up your student, we MUST have an email from you. The email needs to be sent to your student's attendance clerk, include your child's name and the name of the person picking up. *Please note that Emergency contacts are only used in an emergency, not for normal pick up.*

New 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline
In May of 2023, Texas became one of 13 states who have enacted legislation to fund and implement the 988 system. In July of 2023, this became available to everyone across the US. Understanding the issues concerning suicide and mental health is an important way to take part in suicide prevention, help others in crisis and change the conversation around suicide.
