GHV homecoming has come and gone with an action packed schedule. I am beyond impressed with the number of activities the student council puts together and with the level of participation of the students. There was the traditional hall decorating, A-frames, float building, powderpuff football, pep rallies, and the parade.

Two new traditions were added this year. He-man volleyball was a tremendous hit with both participants and spectators. The gym was loud and proud! We also welcomed our elementary classes, who walked over Thursday to check out our awesome hallway decorations. Check out the pictures!

The additional activities and extra level of excitement that comes with homecoming week can be tiring, but it is so great to know the kids are creating memories...we are all creating memories. Our student council at GHV is incredibly strong, and our student leaders did a great job organizing all of the week's events. I'm so proud of our kids!

In addition, a special thanks goes out to our staff for putting in the extra hours this week to supervise all of our activities. And a HUGE thank you goes out to Mrs. Edwards and Mr. Graham as student council advisors. There is so much that goes on behind the scenes to put together a successful homecoming. They did a stellar job, and this was a week of memories that will be cherished for years to come!

Below are some pictures of the various activities and events held throughout the week. In addition to being fun, these experiences provided an opportunity for students to collaborate, plan, trouble shoot, compete, and bond together as a class and a school.

Our homecoming activities also provide an opportunity for our kids to show their creativity and artwork. Are our kids talented or what?!? I am blown away by their skills!

It was a fabulous week, and now we are ready to get back into our regular routine. Midterm of the first quarter has come and gone, and we will continue to focus on learning at high levels for our students.

As always, let's partner as parents/guardians, teachers, staff and students to do what's best for our kids.

Great things are happening at GHVHS!

In the midst of all the homecoming events, the 3rd Annual GHV Hall of Fame Celebration was held Thursday evening. Below are the inductees who were honored at this event. It was wonderful to hear the legacies of so many people who impacted our community and our school. It makes me incredibly proud to be a Cardinal when I hear these stories.

A huge thank you to the GHV Hall of Fame committee members, and a special thanks to Kelsey Edwards and Matt Graham for coordinating this event and beginning this amazing GHV tradition. Well done!
