CES Weekly News for November 11th
Principal Message
Library notifications have been going out to students who check out library books. This notification will inform you when your student checks out a book and will also let you know if any of the books are overdue.
This is just a reminder that our school will be closed Monday November 25th-29th. School will resume on December 2nd.
We will be accepting donated Halloween Costumes for children in need to be used for next school. Donations can be left at the front office.
Thanks,
Mr. Simmons

Pawsitively Playful
We have had a busy couple of weeks! We started our fabulous furry forest families unit, learned a new story and song, There Was An Old Lady Who Wasn't Afraid, and learned our new sound
/f/. We said goodbye to Miss E, who is still working in our district as an intern, however, is no longer solely with the Pawfully Playful program. We know will be happy when she stops by to visit! Last Thursday evening, 11/07/2024, Mrs. Meyers, Mrs. W, Miss Tara, Miss Krystyl, and Miss E were honored to present to the school board about our Pawsitively Playful program. We highlighted that we're "not just playing around" and as Piaget said, "Play is the work of young children." We spoke about the benefits of early literacy exposure, speech and language development, and fine and gross motor development through a play format. To see the highlights of our presentation to the school board, please see the following link to the minutes and agendas.
Developmental Dot!
Ever think you have way too much stuff in your house for your children? Research has shown us that in order to have a high-quality and diverse preschool experience, children need variety in the toys and games they get to experience. If you're interested in different types of play that you can do with your child(ren), check out this article from the National Institutes of Medicine discussing play and games for children.
This year we will be participating in the Green Bay Packers Tundra Tales Reading Program. The reading program runs from Monday, October 14th to November 17th. Students in grades 4K-5 (no 6th grade) can earn a ticket to the Packer Hall of Fame for reading 4 hours during that time frame. Every classroom that has at least 75% participation will receive a $100 grant for literacy. Every school that has at least 5 classrooms complete the program with at least 75% participation is entered to win one of five $1,000 grants for literacy resources. Reading logs must be turned into your child's teacher by Monday, November 18th. Please make sure to put your child's first & last name as well as their teacher name on their reading log. Happy Reading!

Attendance Matters
As the school year starts to get underway, we want to remind parents about the importance of school attendance. It is important to minimize absences whenever possible. We ask families to do whatever they can to schedule appointments outside the school day. Also, please try to schedule family trips that avoid you child missing multiple days of school.
