School News Network: Marching band takes talents to Magic Kingdom
Cedar Springs High School marching band members recently took their talents to Disney World and Universal Studios as part of Disney’s Imagination Campus program. About 70 students participated, performing a parade on Main Street USA in front of thousands of spectators and taking part in a movie soundtrack workshop at Universal Studios.
For drum majors Avery Colombo and Isabella Galperin, the experience was unforgettable. “It was a huge honor to perform there,” said Isabella.
Testing Out Opportunity- Date Change
The student testing out date has been rescheduled to June 25 to align with the end of summer school. If you are planning a vacation after school ends and intend to test out, please plan your study schedule accordingly.

Last Change to Submit a Senior Ad for the Yearbook
The Cedar Springs High School Yearbook staff is now accepting senior recognition ads for the class of 2025. These ads will be featured in a special section of the 2024-2025 yearbook. Please take this special opportunity to tell your senior how proud you are of his or her achievements!
Senior ads are available for a limited time on a space-available basis. All ad elements and payments must be submitted no later than noon on Thursday, March 27, 2025. Please follow the instructions below as you gather elements for your ad. Please email hsyearbook@csredhawks.org with questions regarding your senior recognition ad.
FINAL DEADLINE March 27, 2025 at noon
1/8 page is $50 : includes one photo and a small blurb.
1/4 page is $75 : includes one current photo, three to four photos of your choice, and a message.
1/2 page is $125 : includes one current photo, four to eight photos of your choice, and a message.
1 FULL page is $225 : includes one current photo, up to sixteen photos of your choice, and a message.

SAT Suite of Assessments – Opt-Out Information
During an upcoming school day, students will participate in the SAT Suite of Assessments, including the SAT® with Essay, PSAT/NMSQT®, PSAT™ 10, and PSAT™ 8/9. These assessments help track student progress, prepare them for future success, and fulfill state and federal requirements.
Students can access their test scores through the BigFuture School™ mobile app, which also provides career guidance and college planning resources. Additionally, students can opt into the Connections™ program, which links them to colleges and scholarship opportunities without sharing personal information.
As part of testing, students may provide optional information for personalized guidance and scholarship connections. If you prefer to opt your child out of providing this information, please complete and return the Parental/Guardian Opt-Out Form to the main office before testing begins.

Join Study Table
Students can drop in for tutoring on any subject, with no sign-up needed! Study tables are available on Mondays and Wednesdays from 2:25 to 3:30 p.m. This is a great time to study, finish homework, or makeup tests and quizzes (if arranged with a teacher).
Transportation is available. Please email Ms. Schultz or Mrs. Teuissen if you need bus transportation.

CSPS Perseverance Award – $1,300 Scholarship Opportunity
The CSPS Perseverance Award is a $1,300 scholarship that will be awarded to a Cedar Springs High School senior planning to attend college. This scholarship recognizes a student with grit, determination, and perseverance.
To apply, students must submit an application along with a required essay by May 3.
