Region 14 BOE/District Goals
- Academic Performance - The district will strive to improve academic performance for all students on multiple assessment indicators and the staff will be committed to continuous improvement.
- Communication - Region 14 will develop partnerships with all stakeholders in the school community to highlight the exemplary programs the district offers.
- Safety - Region 14 will provide safe and secure facilities equipped with technology, enabling a 21st century learning environment that supports the values of the district.
- Budget - Region 14 will prepare a budget that meets the needs of every student and communicates the needs and priorities of Region 14 in a clear and concise manner.
Important Information
Greetings BES families,
The BES Talent Show on Thursday of last week was a great success. Students also participated in a school-wide assembly Friday and the show was repeated for our student body. We also introduced our new bulldog mascot, Buddy.
This is Career & College Week at BES! The week will include spirit dress up days, Careers on Wheels for our PreK-2nd graders, Career Day Speakers for 3rd-5th graders, and an opportunity for 5th graders to present their projects to students and families. Be sure to ask your child about what they’re learning in library media class and what careers they may be interested in for their future! Please see attached schedule below for a daily breakdown of events.
Garden Club is back this year and willl be held on Thursday afternoons, begininng April 11th. Permission slips were sent home for students in grades 3-5 🌼
EKG Screening - In A Heartbeat Cardiac Screening Program is designed to help prevent death from sudden cardiac arrest by helping detect potential heart disease in children, teens, & young adults. They will be at Nonnewaug on Wednesday, April 24 starting at 1:30. Parents can register their child for a free screening using this link. Please remember next week, April 15-19th is Spring Break and there is no school. We hope you have a wonderful break!
When EdAdvance opens up their registration for afterschool care for next year, they will also be offering before school care. The before school care will run from 7:00 to 8:15 AM. For those who live in Bethlehem or attend BES, there will be a bus that will transport students from MES to BES. Please look for the flyers that EdAdvance will be sending out soon.
