New Albany Primary School
December 2, 2024
Dear Primary School Families,
PRIMARY SCHOOL HOUSE SYSTEM
If you have older students at the Intermediate or Middle Schools, you are likely familiar with the House System they have created this year. We are excited to begin work on bringing the House System to the Primary School this school year as well. The House System is an intentional approach to build a strong sense of belonging and promote a positive school culture by creating smaller communities within New Albany Primary School focused on kindness, dignity, respect, and community service. Our Primary School House Teacher Leaders have been collaborating during the first semester to develop our House System for students for the second half of the school year. We look forward to sharing more information soon!

LOST AND FOUND
Lost and Found season is here in full force! The days are getting cooler and students are dressing in layers. If your child has a tendency to leave any personal belongings behind, please write their name on the tag of their outerwear, and remind them to look for their missing item in our Lost and Found! If your child packs his/her lunch or carries a water bottle, please also remind them to collect their items from the playground before heading into the building and/or check Lost and Found if they have misplaced anything. Parents are welcome to look for lost items when they visit NAPS or contact Sara Peterson at peterson.2@napls.us if you need assistance looking for specific items. December 20th will be the final day to collect items from our lost and found.

Primary Families,
We are so very thankful for our generous community! Thanks to Starbucks in Market Square, we were able to provide a coffee and hot chocolate bar for our staff last month! In addition, Camden Steele, one of our Primary students, purchased and gifted warm, fuzzy socks to all 150 of our teachers and staff to show his appreciation for their hard work!
As the holidays are approaching, we are preparing a gift for our staff, as well as a nice holiday meal before winter break. Thank you to The Schoolhouse, Dwell Well and Academy One for already contributing to these items. If your business or family would like to help sponsor the meal and/or gift, please reach out to Jonelle at jonelleshotwell@gmail.com.
We would also like to thank our head room parents and all of the volunteers who made our fall parties so successful. Our teachers and kids truly appreciate you!
