Principal Message
Dear Golden Hills Families,
The first trimester has just ended! Parent Conference Week is just around the corner: November 18th-22nd. School ends at 1:15 during Parent Conference Week. Teachers will be setting up schedules for families to meet to go over your students' progress.
Help us stuff our Food Pantry! We have our first ever Food Pantry in our new Wellness Center, we are asking families to bring non perishable foods to our Wellness Center either before or after their Parent Conference.
Our Golden Hills Giving Tree is officially set up in the office! Please come by and grab a tag if you are able to! We have about 18 tags left on the tree. Our goal is to make the holidays a little brighter for families in our community.
We had so much fun celebrating Red Ribbon Week with the students. The dress up days were so much fun and thank you for the participation! We also loved all the families attending the Halloween Parade!
Thank you to the families who attended our first Literacy Chat. At this meeting we shared specific information about their students reading and provided resources to support the student at home. We will do this again!
Our Golden Hills staff is working hard each month to develop interventions based on each student's individual needs. Our EAGLE time is based around a math intervention, this could be reteaching a target standard or providing extensions for students who are ready to be challenged! Our SOAR time is based around a Language Arts intervention or extension, students are assessed to see which skills they need to reach their reading goals.
On November 22nd we will have an Art Showcase & Family Picnic Day . The Art Showcase will be at lunch time, for fourth grade it begins at 11:35 and fifth grade will be at 12:10 . Art will be displayed in the breezeway for families to see. Students will choose a piece of art from their homeroom, art class with Ms.Rayome or from their afterschool art club. Families are welcome to join us at lunch, please bring a blanket or chairs to spread out and sit on the grass. If it rains we will open up classrooms & the cafeteria. All visitors must bring their own lunch. We will also be having a Farmers Market during this event too. Be sure to stop by the cafeteria to get some fresh produce to take home.
The Parent Teacher Group/ School Site Council will be having a meeting on Wednesday November 6th. Part of the meeting will be filling up bottles with chalk to be ready for our Color Run On Thursday, November 7th from 1:30-2:30!
Please be sure to contact me if you have any questions or concerns,
Thank you,
Mrs Napoli
