SO PROUD OF CENTER SCIENTISTS SHARING THEIR KNOWLEDGE
Dear Families,
A huge thank you to Ms. Keenan and the team of science fair volunteers who made this event such a huge success.
Thanks also to Ms. Lam for supporting our budding Center artists. If you haven't had a chance to check out the art displayed at Chelmsford Public LIbrary, please take some time to do that. You won't be disappointed.
Phone/Smart watch Usage
Increasingly, more students are bringing cellphones and smart watches to school. Please be mindful of the district policy regarding cell phone use:
If students need to contact home they should see their teacher/administrator to receive permission to use the phone in the classroom or office. Conversely, if a parent needs to speak with a student, the parent should call the school office. All cell phones should be off while in school, unless in use for instructional purposes. Any student using a cell phone/smart watch for non- instructional purposes while school is in session will have that cell phone/smart watch confiscated by the teacher and turned in to the office. A first offense will lead to a warning and the administrator will return the phone to the student at the end of the day. Second and subsequent offenses will result in the phone being returned only to the parent and/or further disciplinary actions. (Pg. 18 of the student handbook)
Additionally, students are not allowed to take pictures of others on the bus or during the school day due to privacy issues.
Hope to see many of you at the CSPTO meeting on Wednesday at 7 PM, in the Center library. Have a good week.
Warm Regards,
Dianna and Donna

March is Women's History Month and Wednesday was International Women's Day. It is a great time to learn more about the incredible accomplishments of women throughout history. Families and staff, if you come across a good book you want to share, please email me at fulreaderd@chelmsford.k12.ma.us to have the book highlighted here. Consider checking out one of Eloise Greenfield's books or poems this week. (Teachers, there is a link to one of her books in the Connections Calendar.)

MCAS - Save the dates!
This year, students across the Commonwealth will be taking The Next- Generation MCAS for our annual standardized state testing. All students in Chelmsford will be taking the computer-based assessment using Chromebooks. Please mark your calendars for the important dates below. We strongly encourage all students to be present and on time these days. If your child is sick, we will have make-up sessions so that they are able to take the assessments when they are able to show their personal best work.
Chelmsford is fortunate to have access to iReady to support student learning. Students have access to this learning tool at home. Please reach out to your teacher if you have difficulty logging on. There is much research to support enhanced student achievement with use of this valuable tool. Please press here for more information.
