ACCOMMODATIONS
Intercontinental Hotel Chicago
Welcome to the InterContinental Chicago Magnificent Mile, one of the most beautiful and historic hotels in Chicago. The Intercontinental will be our home away from home in the weeks leading up to the Grand Opening.
As the only hotel with a front entrance on the city's Magnificent Mile, the InterContinental enjoys a premier Windy City address in the heart of the city's finest shopping, entertainment and cultural attractions. Many notable places of interest - including the Art Institute, Field Museum, Museum of Contemporary Art, Water Tower Place, Navy Pier and Shedd Aquarium - are within walking distance of this landmark property.
The staff at the Intercontinental look forward to hosting Verizon for this special project.

Jewel of the Midwest
Sitting on the shores of Lake Michigan, vibrant and glimmering, Chicago is known throughout the world for its architecture, museums, sports teams, barely tolerable winters, and cutting-edge cuisine. New York City may be the city that never sleeps, but Chicago is the city where you'll never get bored. There's something to do most every night from sporting events to festivals, concerts to gallery openings. It's the city where strangers become best friends over Mexican Carnitas and creme brulee donuts.
Chicago is the home to many notable firsts:
- the first skyscraper (Home Insurance Bldg -1884);
- the first mail order retailer (Sears -1888);
- the first car radio (Galvin Co. - 1930); and the latest "first"
- Chicago's first Destination Store (Verizon - 2014)
They Don't Call It The Windy City For Nothing.....
The city experiences all four seasons, with late spring and early fall being generally warm, clear and dry times. Winter and summer behave as expected, but early spring and late fall can easily mix pleasant days with wretched ones. Chicago has no true rainy season; rainy days are spread throughout the year.
Chicago's weather can be wicked in November, so be prepared. The temperature can range from highs in the low to mid 50's to lows in the upper 20's.
