After School Painting Fun!
Grades 1 - 5
This is a fun painting workshop where you explore your creativity! We'll be painting winter themed works or art that you get to choose! This session your child can pick to paint a butterfly, unicorn, neon soccer ball, or a spring bunny.
No experience needed, just eager to have fun and excited energy. Join the fun & paint with us!

Babysitting Classes

In this popular babysitting class, your child will learn everything they need to know about caring for children, keeping them entertained, and ensuring their safety. To a pre-teen growing and establishing identity, the world can seem chaotic, dangerous, and confusing. This course helps kids become more sure-footed by teaching them to be independent, responsible, and able to care for themselves — valuable skills adults want tweens to know as they mature! Broadway Bootcamp - Early Release Day

Join us for an exciting one-day Broadway Bootcamp workshop! This dynamic program is designed to boost your self-confidence through the thrilling world of musical theatre performance. Discover your hidden talents and unleash your creativity in a safe and supportive environment. Throughout the day, you'll immerse yourself in the fundamentals of musical theatre, including acting, music, and movement. Our experienced facilitators will guide you as you learn the basics of performance and choreography. Then, with their expert assistance, you'll put it all together to create your own captivating scene, song, and dance from a popular Broadway show.
Whether you're a seasoned performer or new to the stage, this high-energy workshop is for everyone. Through a variety of engaging games and exercises, you'll uncover your natural gifts and expand upon your talents. Our structured instruction will help you present what you've learned in a comfortable and confident manner. The primary goal of our one-day workshop is to cultivate a healthy interest in the performing arts. We aim to provide a supportive environment where you can recognize and develop your unique talents and self-expression. Broadway Bootcamp!
Grades: K- 5th
Join the Broadway Bootcamp team for the original Broadway Bootcamp summer experience! Broadway Bootcamp participants learn the basics of musical theatre performance and choreography to perform their own scenes and songs from popular musicals. It is a high-energy, engaging experience for anyone, no matter their level of stage experience.
Each session is split into smaller groups by age so that students are learning material tailored to their interests and skills. Students are rotated through singing, dancing, and acting activities each day. Various daily games and exercises allow participants to discover their hidden talents and expand upon their natural gifts and creativity. The guided instruction provides a structure so participants can present what they have learned in a comfortable, confident manner.
The primary goal is to promote a healthy interest in the performing arts while providing a safe environment for participants to recognize and develop their talents and self-expression.

Join the Broadway Bootcamp team for an advanced musical theater experience and take your performance skills to the next level! This course is high-energy and open to anyone, regardless of stage experience.
In this week-long workshop, multiple performance opportunities will be rehearsed with professional guidance, aiming to showcase all the talent on Friday afternoon.
Students are encouraged to come with a prepared solo or duet/trio/quartet with friends to audition with for the chance to share in our Friday performance!

Broadway Bootcamp - The Show!
Grades 1st - 11th
Join the Broadway Bootcamp team in producing a musical adventure! The show will be announced before summer begins. Throughout the week, they will take part in learning all of the lines, lyrics, and dances to this 30-minute production, as well as take part in many behind-the-scenes elements of the stage, such as creating stage decorations and props, assembling their costumes, and more!
The final performance at the end of the week is a free production for the family to come and enjoy. All students will receive their own commemorative script and show t-shirt to take home with them on Friday.
Once the production rights are secured, we will announce the name of The Show.

Intro to HPS Competitive Robotics
We provide students the equipment and knowledge to compete in the world's largest robotics competition program.
Curious about the exciting world of competitive robotics? Join our two-evening course and dive into the hands-on experience of building, programming, and driving your very own robot!
Hudsonville Robotics uses competition to inspire innovation. Potential roboteers will explore technology while developing communication, teamwork, and collaboration skills. If their interest continues, additional courses will be available to further develop skills and prepare for the fall competition season. The classes will be a prerequisite for students interested in competing on a team in the fall.
Day 1: Explore control systems and entry-level build principles, and finish with an actual competition.
Day 2: Personalize your robot's controls, train it to drive autonomously, and put your programming skills to the test in another exciting competition.

Join us for a mini-monstrous journey into the Challenge Island wild! Our adventurous STEAM Teams are on a quest to catch, collect and train all of the island's mini-monsters. They'll visit gyms, earn badges, go on treasure hunts and even engage in a battle or two. With the help of their Islandmon allies STEAMaroo and her baby, STEAMpuff, our STEAM Teams will tackle an island-ful of engineering challenges as they evolve into true STEAM Champions.

Are you ready for some YUMMY summer fun? Come and join Ashley Buchinger of Buchinger Baking Co. and learn how to decorate cookies using royal icing! These summer themed cookies are sure to put a smile on your face. Learn the basics of cookie decorating including the tools and techniques required to make beautifully decorating royal icing cookies. Each child will make their own set of themed cookies that they will bring home with them! No experience is needed as I will teach you step by step how to decorate your cookies! What is a role playing game (RPG)?
Role-playing games (RPGs) offer immersive improvisational experiences that encourage teamwork, collaboration, and fundamental math skills to enhance storytelling for children.
In this class, students develop creativity, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities. Together, players craft a shared narrative, leading heroes through perilous quests to seek treasure, confront formidable enemies, and undertake daring rescues. The scope of the adventure is defined only by the players' imaginations.
The stories shared in this course are tailor-made for the specific age group, ensuring that they will be both engaging and appropriate.

Paint and Create
Ages 6 - 12+
Dive into a world of color and creativity this summer with our exciting Paint & Create camps! Join us for three weeks of themed artistic exploration, where each week brings a new adventure: Ocean Adventures, Summertime Fun, and Animals/Nature. We'll be transforming a variety of surfaces – canvas, wood, rocks, coasters, birdhouses, seashells, and ceramics – into vibrant masterpieces using acrylic paints.
Ages 6-11: Get ready to paint on rocks, canvases, wood, seashells, birdhouses, and ceramics!
Ages 12+: Explore more advanced projects like door hangers, coasters, paint pouring, planter pots, canvases, birdhouses, and ceramics.
Each day, you'll create and take home a finished project, making this a truly immersive painting experience. No prior experience is needed – just bring your imagination! Kids are welcome to bring snacks and drinks. We'll provide aprons, but please wear paint-friendly clothes. Expect fun games of bingo, candy goodie bags, and a whole lot of creative fun!

Bubble Glazing Class
Ages 5 - 13
This workshop includes a mug or bowl for each participant, all necessary glazing supplies, and expert guidance from our instructor. Your child will learn the unique bubble glazing technique and create a beautiful, personalized piece. After glazing, your pieces will be clear glazed and fired by the instructor, ready for pick-up by the beginning of the following week. Parents who wish to glaze their own piece can do so at the two-or-more participant price.

Coiling and Pinch Pots Class

Explore the art of pottery with our coiling and pinch pot class. We'll supply clay, tools, and glazing materials. You'll receive a demonstration and hands-on instruction as you create your own pottery. Once finished, select your glaze, and we'll take care of the firing process. Your glazed and fired pieces will be ready for pick-up within two weeks.

Slab Work and Wheel Throwing
Ages 11+
Dive into the world of pottery with this workshop covering both slab construction and wheel throwing. Start by hand-building a cup, box, or birdhouse using provided patterns. Then, experience the thrill of the potter's wheel, learning to center and shape your clay. A short break will be included, please bring a lunch.
The workshop includes: slab building, hands-on wheel throwing instruction, 4 hours of studio time, at least 4 finished pieces, two firings and glazing, 5-10 pounds of clay, and access to all necessary tools.

Video Game Design
Ages 8 - 12
Students will develop a range of coding and problem-solving skills as they create fun Space-themed video games. Game designers will think creatively, reason systematically, and work collaboratively to create various video games. Each Game Design unit includes a mini-model rocket built with LEGO® Bricks that will be the main character of all of the games. Each game progressively teaches more advanced capabilities within the Scratch® video game design software. Students will be excited to play their very own completed video games. Participants receive a flash drive which contains their games.

Get ready to build, program, and battle your very own robotic sumo wrestler in our Sumo Bots Advanced Robotics Camp! Let’s built a CITY! Young campers will work together to put their engineering and architecture skills to work as they build city themed models using LEGO™ bricks. The sky is the limit when campers are challenged to use their own ideas and skills to build a skyscraper taller than their heads! They’ll have a blast making custom made cars to move the people of the city all around town. What an accomplishment to be able to say, “We built this city!” Campers will receive a generic minifigure with accessories to keep!

Inspired by NASA and Star Wars™, this camp is packed full of models that will make your imagination blast off! Join us for a week of fun, friendship, and building! In our Besties and Friends camp, we’ll dive into the colorful world of LEGO Friends, where creativity and adventure are always just around the corner. Whether it’s exploring new hobbies, zipping around in cool custom vehicles, or taking care of adorable pets, there’s something for everyone! All Besties and Friends campers will love collaborating with others while creating LEGO neighborhoods, filled with exciting builds, fun challenges, and memories with new friends. Get ready for a week of laughter, teamwork, and endless imagination!

REFUND POLICY
A full refund is made for any class canceled by Community Education. We will issue refunds if your request is made at least seven (7) days in advance. Please check your schedule before registering.
Scholarship Opportunity
Hudsonville Community Education aims to provide high-quality enrichment classes, recreational sports, and summer camps for everyone. We are proud to offer scholarships to members of the Hudsonville Public Schools community who are eligible for free or reduced lunch and reside within the boundaries of the Hudsonville Public School District.
- If your child is eligible for free lunches, you can be awarded one $50 scholarship per school year. (Maximum 1 per family)
- If your child is eligible for reduced lunches, you can be awarded one $25 scholarship per school year. (Maximum 1 per family)
