NEWS FROM DR. COOPER

Dear Families,


Cold weather season has officially arrived. We go outside for recess whenever it's possible, which means you can expect your child(ren) to go outside unless it's below zero degrees with the windchill. Be sure to send coats, hats, gloves, etc to school each day. If your child has misplaced anything, we'd love for you to check the Lost and Found! We live in Nebraska so we know there will be inclement weather at some point. You can review the District's procedures for inclement weather days HERE. We will always communicate these by email and text message.



We hope to see you at Turkey BINGO next Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00. Come to Millard South High School to enjoy some pizza, play some BINGO and win books.

NOVEMBER STUDENT COUNCIL SPIRIT DAY

Our November Student Council Spirit Day was held on Wednesday, November 13th with the theme of favorite holiday. We collected $370.00 to support the Wounded Warrior Project. We thank you for your support and generosity.

WEEKLY BIST REPORT

This week we will share more information on Think Sheets. A “Think Sheet” is used to help a student process through an incident that occurred, often while the child is at the Safe Seat. It is a tool to help the student reflect on what happened, how they felt and others involved may have felt, and create a positive plan should a similar experience happen again. Think sheets can look different ways, depending on the needs of the student (pictures, written, etc.) Sometimes these are sent home while other times they are used as a tool at school. If one does come home, no further action is necessary on your part. The back of the think sheet has more information on BIST philosophy and explains how they are used.
