Hard work pays off! Our students are working hard every day in their classrooms and the learning goals are coming right along! Students not only receive positive reinforcement for their efforts in academics, they also receive accolades for leadership, showing grit in the classroom, and kindness. They will be rewarded for their good habits and hard work. Our school implements a PBIS program where we identify and reward leadership and grit characteristics in our students. Throughout the year, students work on getting tickets individually as well as a class. They work towards a goal as a whole school to earn a reward with their tickets. On top of whole school rewards, each quarter, each teacher picks 2 students that represent going above and beyond in everyday behavior and kindness in our Royalty Court. Each teacher also picks 2 students that have made huge strides in learning and academic growth as their GRIT workers. Each teacher also picks 2 students that go above and beyond in showing safety in the classroom and school. We celebrate the students with a Royal Gala at the end of each quarter. Our first one is right around the corner on 10/16. Students are invited to dress fancy for the occasion! You can learn more about the PBIS definition and trend here: Positive Behavior Interventions and Support.
Fire Safety Week!
We talked about SO MANY fire safety things this week at school!!! Make sure you follow up at home! One of the most important things we talked about was to make sure they know their fire escape plan at home and where to meet their adults outside of the home if there was to ever be a fire! If you don't have a plan... right now is a great time to make one!

Please update emergency clothes in your child's backpack!
It’s that time of year where the weather is changing. Remember those bags of emergency clothes in your child’s backpack? Please swap out the summer clothes for fall clothing. Please also make sure your child’s emergency bag has socks and underwear in it. If your child doesn’t have a bag in their backpack- please make them one!!! One outfit, one pair of socks, and one pair of underwear. This is for any emergency your child may encounter here at school, not just bathroom accidents. You never know when they may slip in mud or chocolate milk will attack at lunch!!

School City of Hobart Receives $118,000 Grant to Benefit Hobart Infants and Toddlers!
We are thrilled to share some exciting news! School City of Hobart Brickies from the Start -formerly Building Brickies has been chosen as a recipient of an Early Years Initiative grant, a funding opportunity led by Early Learning Indiana and generously supported by Lilly Endowment Inc. This grant program aims to enhance the learning and development of infants and toddlers in Hobart, IN.
Through this incredible opportunity, Brickies from the Start will be able to strengthen our efforts in supporting the cognitive, social-emotional and physical wellbeing of the youngest members of our community. Our mission has always been to strengthen families of children from pregnancy until kindergarten entry to help all Hobart children thrive, and this grant aligns perfectly with that commitment.
With this grant, we will be able to expand our program through hiring an infant and toddler specialist who will ensure that all Hobart children, their families and childcare workers, will be equipped with information and resources for developmental screenings and support . Our goal is to make a lasting impact on the lives of our little ones, providing them with a solid foundation for a successful future. We firmly believe that investing in early education and development sets the stage for lifelong learning and success.
We are dedicated to serving families in Hobart and making a meaningful difference in the lives of those we reach.
