Dear Parents,
Fall MAP Reports will be sent home tomorrow with all students. Spring 2023 IAR results will be sent home with students in 4th & 5th grade. Please review the data and if you have any questions, reach out to the classroom teacher.
One of our focuses this school year is attendance. Information about attendance was shared during Curriculum Night. We know there is a strong relationship between regular school attendance and academic success. We are striving for daily school attendance for all students.
Statistics about Attendance:
- Absenteeism in the first month of school can predict poor attendance throughout the school year. Half the students who miss 2-4 days in September go on to miss nearly a month of school.
- Students who missed 2 to 4 days in September were 5 times more likely to be chronically absent than students who were absent fewer than 2 days.
- Students who missed more than 4 days were over 16 times as likely to be chronically absent than students who were absent fewer than 2 days
Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Caring

Required Health Forms:
- Kindergarten: Physical, Dental, & Vision
- 2nd Grade: Dental
- Health Office Website
Student Daily Medication:
If your student requires daily medication or emergency medication, please bring in a new order from the doctors office. All food action plans and asthma action plans need to be renewed for the new school year, last year's orders cannot and will not be used. All forms can be found on the district website under health office.
Student Needs:
Please inform the nurse of any allergies or sensitivities to foods, medications, and environmental allergens. If there are any pertinent details of your students' health that you feel the nurse needs to know, please reach out and discuss this with the school nurse. This information can be helpful to better support your student throughout the day, if certain situations arise.
About Your Studentโs Medication:
The district's medication administration policy mandates that all medication to be administered at school requires an MD order, this includes over-the-counter medications. Students may NOT keep over-the-counter meds in their backpacks or in their lockers--including cough drops, Advil, etc. This is an important safety concern! Please review the policy included in the registration process.
If your student requires an inhaler, Epi-Pen, or any oral medication, please obtain the medication form and appropriate health care plan from your physician when your child has their exam. Forms may also be obtained on the district website.
Excused Physical Education Class:
Please note that all PE excuses need to be sent to the Nurse's Office. A parent may excuse a student from PE for up to 3 days. (consecutively) Thereafter, a Doctor's note is required.
Calls home from the Nurse:
Phone calls home are warranted in the event of a head injury, minor or major
All in school sickness including fever of 100.4 (oral) or greater, vomiting and/or diarrhea
