First Grade Guinea Pig Needs a Home for Summer!!!
Have you ever thought about getting a pet but weren't sure if it was a good fit for your family? Here is a great opportunity to try out a small pet for a short amount of time! Poppy is a 3 year old short haired Guinea Pig who is very easy to care for. Her kennel is large, 2 1/2 feet by 3 1/2 feet, and has wheels. She is used to the sound of kids, loves to eat fresh fruit and veggies, and loves to be read to! Guinea Pigs are great companions and are very sweet pets. Food and Bedding will be covered by teacher Sharese. Transportation can be arranged if you don't have a large vehicle. For more information or to ask questions please contact Teacher Sharese, sjewel@pps.net

Information from our School Health Assistant (SHA)
Changes to Oregon Immunization Requirements
Effective August 1st, 2025
A Certificate of Immunization Status (CIS) form with a parent signature documenting the date of
chickenpox (varicella) disease will no longer be accepted to document immunity.
Schools may accept parent signed history of varicella disease if received prior to August 1st, 2025.
Acceptable immunity documentation:
- A letter signed by a health care provider with authority to diagnose disease,
- A lab report with reference ranges,
- A print out from the Alert Immunization Information System (ALERT IIS) showing immunity,
- Documentation from a representative of a local health department.
Exclusion Day is moving
from the third Wednesday to the
fourth Wednesday in February.
This gives parents an extra week to provide immunization records or documentation
of an exemption or immunity to the school. If the school does not have the required
immunization records or documentation by Exclusion Day, the student will not be
permitted to attend school.
