VMS ELKS Roundup
OCTOBER Monthly
VandenBerge Middle School Families,
Welcome to October! As we settle into the school year, we’re excited to share the latest news and highlights from our middle school community. This month brings new learning opportunities, important events, and a chance for our students to grow both academically and socially. We encourage you to stay engaged and support your child’s journey as we work together to create a positive and enriching environment.
As we move forward, we recognize that the initial excitement of the school year can fade, making the following months more challenging for some of our students. Our goal is to support every student throughout the year, helping them feel connected and supported within our school community. I encourage you to reach out if you have questions or if your student needs additional support as we continue to navigate throughout the school year.
Thank you for your continued partnership with us at VMS!
Best regards,

Picture Retake Day, Friday, October 11th
If your student did not like their first picture, this will be the last opportunity for them to do a retake. Any students who were absent from open house and our make up day should also plan to take a picture on retake day. We want to ensure we have a picture of all students for school IDs and the yearbook.

Dressup Days
At the middle school, we offer numerous opportunities for students and staff to participate in various dress-up days throughout the school year. Details about these designated days will be communicated to families via the school newsletter and shared with students on Schoology and during RALLY. For example, VandenBerge Middle School encouraged participation in dress-up days alongside Elk River High School's Homecoming events. Please be aware that October 31 is not considered a dress-up day for students at VandenBerge Middle School, and attire for both students and staff should adhere to our standard dress code.
