Newburyport art teachers Kirsten Borne, Tran Jost, Rose Hart, Ben Ober, Mary Rakoski, and Andrew Smith have selected outstanding artwork representing their respective schools. Additionally, the Newburyport High School Art Honors Society will showcase a selection of their artwork.
Student work from kindergarten through grade 12 will be on display at the Newburyport Senior Center from March 1st through April 1st.
A special thank you to the Newburyport Education Foundation for sponsoring this event.
Volunteer Requirements
CORI Process
- All volunteers must have an up-to-date CORI on file with the Newburyport Elementary Schools.
- Bring the completed CORI form along with your driver's license to the Administrative Assistant at our school office.
- Please note CORI's are only valid for three years; after that you must reapply.
Fingerprinting
In keeping with Newburyport's continued focus on safety, volunteers/parents are required to be fingerprinted in two instances:
- If you are going on a day or overnight field trip and will have direct and unmonitored contact with children;
- If you are a lunchroom volunteer and will be bringing children out to the playground. Parents who volunteer in the classroom DO NOT need to be fingerprinted, if there will always be another adult present.
Massachusetts has contracted with MorphoTrust for fingerprinting. To book an appointment, visit the Massachusetts IdentoGO Website.
Please be aware there is a $35 fee for fingerprinting. Fingerprinting does not expire.

2025 CLIPPER READATHON REGISTRATION STARTS TODAY!!!!
WHAT IS THE CLIPPER READATHON?
The Clipper Readathon is an annual school-wide activity and fundraiser at the Bresnahan and Molin schools, hosted by the PTO. During the Readathon, from March 17th - March 31st, students will be asked to read, or be read to, for 20 minutes each day outside of school.
The goals of the Clipper Readathon are:
Raise important funds for our schools in a positive way
Foster a joy of reading in ALL our children
Encourage every child to see themselves as a reader
Highlight the importance of reading outside of school
While this is a fundraiser, we keep all aspects and messages of fundraising away from students and the school day. Reading is the sole focus at school. The fundraising part is for us adults and we need your help! This is the PTO’s largest fundraiser.
WHAT DO I NEED TO DO AS A PARENT/CAREGIVER?
Share your child’s Readathon page and collect pledges.
Mark your calendars for these important dates:
Mar 17-31st: Clipper Readathon!!! READ, READ, READ
March 21st: Cozy Reading Day: Wear PJs/comfy clothes and bring a favorite book
March 31st: Bresnahan Character Parade at 8:45am- Parents welcome!
Volunteer or lend a campout tent: We are looking for help with our library campouts.
