From our Assistant Principal, Mrs. Bernauer 📣
Dear Hollys Families,
We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all our families and community for the incredible support and appreciation you showed during Staff Appreciation Week. Your kind words, thoughtful gestures, meals, gifts, and continuous encouragement mean so much to our staff. It’s this strong sense of community that truly makes our school a special place.
As we close out another incredible school year, we want to take a moment to celebrate all that our students, families, and staff have accomplished together. This year has been filled with unforgettable experiences and meaningful learning moments. Our students explored the world around them on enriching field trips to the symphony, pumpkin patches, Plains Conservation Center, museums, and the zoo. Our 5th graders even experienced the adventure of an overnight trip, building confidence and memories that will last a lifetime.
We came together as a community for a beautiful Veterans Day assembly, honoring those who have served our country. We also celebrated our diverse cultures with the Celebration of Cultures and had a blast at our Fall Festival and K-2 Field Day, creating special moments of connection and fun for our students and families.
Academically, our students tackled STAR testing and CMAS and demonstrated their growth in reading, writing, math, science, and social studies. They also developed critical social and emotional skills, learning how to support each other and thrive as part of a community of learners. We also had the pleasure of cheering on our students as they performed in assemblies, showcasing their hard work and dedication as part of our cheer squad and choir.
As we look forward to summer, we want you to know that we’re here for you. If your family needs food assistance, mental health support, school supplies, or access to books, please reach out. We’re committed to ensuring every child in our community has the support they need to thrive.
Reading for Success
Studies show that students who read over the summer come back to school stronger, more confident, and ready to learn. Here are a few simple ways to keep reading part of your summer routine:
Library Visits – Many local libraries offer free summer reading programs and book giveaways.
Read Together – Even 15 minutes a day can make a big difference.
Online Resources – We can connect you with free e-books and audiobooks. Just let us know if you need help getting started.
Summer Meal Programs
Cherry Creek offers summer meals for children. See the flier in this newsletter for more information.
Mental Health and Wellness
If your family is facing stress or emotional challenges this summer, please know that you’re not alone. We have connections to mental health resources and can provide a listening ear when needed.
We’re Here for You
If you need support or simply have questions about how to keep your child learning and thriving over the break, please reach out to our office. We are more than happy to help.
Thank you for trusting us with your children’s education. We look forward to welcoming your students back in the fall, rested, inspired, and ready for another great year.
Wishing you a safe, restful, and joyful summer!
Warm Regards,
Tracie Bernauer
