What's Happening This Week!
What's Happening This Week at Cerro Villa!
SBAC Testing begins Monday, May 6th!
CV will begin the Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium (SBAC) on Monday, May 6th. Students are assessed on Math, English Language Arts, and Science (8th grade only). Testing will take place from 8:48 - 11:06 on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday of each week. Please have your student at school on time each day and avoid any appointments during this time frame.
We are encouraging each student to take their time and put forth their best effort. SBAC results help guide school-wide instruction, provides data to the State and school district on CV's academics and is the "Scorecard" for detailing the progress of Cerro Villa to the community. SBAC results also provide individual data for placement in specific classes for the next school year.
CV students have been practicing SBAC questions and test taking strategies through interim assessments in Math and English class. We also are excited to see the positive gains many students have demonstrated through the i-ready diagnostics! CV students are ready to shine!
Important items for SBAC:
- Students have their laptops each school day
- Laptops are fully charged each school day
- Students are rested and nutritionally ready to test
- Students have a positive mind-set and strive to do their best

What is the PFSO?
The Cerro Villa Parent Faculty Student Organization (PFSO) is a non-profit organization that assists the faculty and staff in enhancing the education experiences of our children.
The PFSO assists with many programs around the school, including dances, Student of the Month, Honor Society, and the 8th Grade Promotion Party. Without your support, these events would not be possible. Most importantly, the PFSO also supports the faculty and staff at Cerro Villa in acquiring items they need for their classrooms in order to enhance our children’s educational experiences.
