Mud Kitchen
Check out the NEW Mud Kitchen at the Spring Street School - Preschool had so much fun playing and exploring in the new mud kitchen! Thank you to Mr. Keeley for building it!!!
One amazing feature of the mud kitchen is the 2 working spouts! Teachers can fill the white buckets with water and the children can turn the spout on and off to get water!
Curriculum Night - October 10, 2024
What will my child be learning about this year? What does a typical day look like? These are some of the questions that will be answered at curriculum night. Parents and guardians (not students) are invited to attend this event. Important topics of curriculum and expectations for the year will be addressed. The schedule for the evening is as follows:
6:00-6:30 Pre-K
6:30-7:00 Kindergarten
- Please enter through the Spring Street School Entrance and head directly to your child's classroom.
ST Math Fun
What is ST Math?
ST Math is an interactive, computer-based math program that helps students learn math in a fun and engaging way. Instead of relying on traditional math problems, ST Math uses visual puzzles to teach important math concepts.
The program follows a character named JiJi, a friendly penguin, as students solve puzzles to help JiJi move forward. These puzzles encourage students to think critically, problem-solve, and understand the "why" behind math concepts, rather than just memorizing formulas. ST Math is designed to build a deeper understanding of math, helping students gain confidence and improve their math skills step by step.
Since it’s self-paced, students can work at their own speed and teachers can monitor their progress to provide support where needed.

DOT DAY
Dot Day is a global celebration of creativity, courage, and self-expression. Inspired by the book The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds, it encourages children to "make their mark" and celebrate their unique talents. On Dot Day, students participate in activities that inspire them to be brave, try new things, and express themselves through art, music, writing, and more. It's a fun way for kids to build confidence in their creative abilities and understand that even the smallest "dot" can lead to something wonderful!

Recognizing National School Lunch Week, October 14-18.
Learning is tough work—and kids need fuel if they’re going to learn! That’s why a healthy midday meal is crucial to the growing children who go to school. Since 1962, when President John F. Kennedy created National School Lunch Week (NSLW), this annual observance has promoted the importance of a healthy school lunch in a child’s life and the impact it has both in and out of the classroom. Today, the National School Lunch Program serves nearly 30 million children every school day. Not only does it reduce childhood hunger, but it also supports American agriculture. We hope your student chooses to participate!
Look for special activities in the cafeteria that week!
Farm to School! We are partnering again this year with C.N. Smith Farm, Langwater Farm, and Vineyard Farm to provide fresh and local fruits and vegetables for our school meals and at test testing events in the cafeteria. The list includes local corn, tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, melons, potatoes, red and yellow beets, lettuce, carrots, and of course several varieties of apples! The RLM school garden harvested butternut squash to be served district-wide!
Monthly Menus - Click on WB Food Services to find October's lunch and breakfast menus. Both meals are free to all students!
Field Trip Lunches- Interested in saving time and money? Let your student's School Nutrition Staff pack a lunch for any upcoming field trips. It's free! Order forms (or links to a Google Form) are typically sent to parents/guardians.
Food Assistance- Project Bread Food Source Hotline , West Bridgewater Food Pantry.
Positions available- Great at social media and interested in food photography? There is a stipend available for an individual to promote our School Nutrition program on social media. Hours are very flexible and variable but the applicant will need to be available during the day.
We are also looking for cafeteria substitutes!
Questions, concerns, suggestions? Contact Ann Marie Grinder, Food Service Director at agrinder@wbridgewater.com or (508)894-1220.
