Second Grade Market Day
Book Nook
Third grade students successfully used their logical reasoning, teamwork, and map skills to solve the puzzle and break out. You can do a Google search for free online escape rooms if you’re looking for a rainy day activity to challenge your brain.
Second grade and multiage students enjoyed some favorite books in the library, including some by Michigan author, Jon Scieszka. The summer reading program at the public library starts next week. This year you get tickets for the amount of time you read, instead of the number of books you read, to try to win the grand prize. Find your favorite shady spot and settle in with a good book!
Happy reading!

Transportation Information Request
The Edwardsburg Transportation Department is beginning to organize for bus routes for the
2024-2025 school year. To prepare bus schedules, they need to know if your child(ren) will be riding the bus to and/or from school, as well as the pick-up and/or drop off locations. Please click the link below to complete a Transportation Request Form for every school-aged child in the household.
PLEASE SUBMIT THIS FORM EVEN IF YOUR CHILD WILL NOT BE RIDING A BUS.
Moving?
If your family is planning to move to a new home over the summer, please provide a written notice about the changes. There are school files and other documents that will need to be prepared as well as modifying classroom enrollment.
Please remember to return your child’s Chromebook and any other school materials prior to your move. Chromebooks may be returned to Eagle Lake Elementary (until June 26) or the Administration building Mondays through Thursdays during the summer months.
STUDENT CHROMEBOOK & SUMMER
Students will be keeping their Chromebooks over the summer months. We encourage them to utilize the educational resources available to them throughout the summer.
Use the Clever portal to access the computer based learning programs
used during the school year.
Edwardsburg Public Schools has implemented several measures to ensure Internet safety for students using Chromebooks. However, these precautions are not foolproof. It is important for parents to continue monitoring their child’s Chromebook use during the summer months.

Attendance
Student attendance has a tremendous impact on learning. Regular attendance is key to academic success and developing positive social and emotional experiences. Social and emotional learning includes developing the ability to work with others and solve problems peacefully—skills crucial to succeeding in the classroom and beyond.
Chronic absenteeism is defined as missing ten percent or more of the school year. Missing two or more days per month—for any reason - puts your child at risk of being chronically absent. The daily classroom activities such as teacher led instruction, active engagement with curriculum, and peer-to-peer conversations cannot be replicated or replaced by make-up work. Students who are chronically absent have a difficult time keeping up with their peers academically and socially—putting them at risk for failure.
As you begin planning family activities for the coming year, please avoid scheduling vacations while school is in session. We appreciate your commitment to making sure your child is at school and on time every day. Regular school attendance is one of the most powerful ways you can prepare your child for success—both in school and in life
