Subject: Checking-In & Upcoming Zoom Call
Dear Instructors,
I hope you've been enjoying your summer so far!
It has come to my attention that iLEAD now requires all vendors to have an EIN (Employer Identification Number) in order to receive charter funds from their enrolled students.
To help clarify what this means and walk you through the process of obtaining an EIN, please join me and my husband, Craig, for a Zoom call this Thursday evening at 7pm.
During the meeting, I’ll also provide:
- Info re the 2025-2026 Instructor Agreement
-
Collecting non-refundable deposits from students who have already enrolled in your classes
-
An update on what we’re working on in response to the current situation with AB 84
If you miss the meeting, send me an email and I will send you a pdf of instructions for obtaining the EIN.
I appreciate your continued dedication and look forward to connecting with you this Thursday!
Warmly,
Michelle Holiday

Student/Parent Testimonials
Have you checked out our Testimonials page on the HSC website? If not, please do so. We need instructors to contact your former students and send them this short Survey. Their feedback will help us add to our testimonial page and help showcase your classes. Thank you!
Google Classroom Demo
HSC instructor, Nataly Jewel, created a Google Classroom Demo video. We encourage you to watch it and consider using Google Classroom to organize and archive your lesson plans, reading assignments, and video links during this summer. Our goal is to streamline information for our families, making it easier for them to access. If everyone uses Google Classroom, parents will become familiar with the format. HSC has provided a "Links" section in your Instructor Portal where you can paste the direct link to your Google Classroom account for your students.

Social Media
Be on the look out for a separate newsletter following this one with instructions on how to post your services on social media homeschool groups.
For easy reference, remember that previous newsletters are accessed by clicking the "Archived Newsletters" button in your Instructor Portal.
Mark Your Calendar! HSC Welcome Day
Fountain Valley: Monday, August 25th
Riverside: Thursday, August 28th
Capo Beach: Friday, August 29th
Time: 10:00am-12:00pm
HSC is hosting a Homeschool Welcome Day!
This special event gives families the opportunity to see the space and meet the faces of their instructors. It’s a great chance for students and parents to become familiar with the campus, helping ensure a smooth and confident start to the school year. In early August, I’ll send out an invitation for you to RSVP.
During the event, instructors will be available in their classrooms to greet families and students. Classroom signs and schedules will be posted on the doors so parents and students can do a “mock walkthrough” of their first day of class.
Live-Online instructors are welcome to participate at any of our in-person locations: Capo Beach, Fountain Valley, or Riverside.
The HSC 2025 - 2026 Calendar
The HSC Academic Calendar is always available on the HSC website.
GREEN: indicates when classes are in session for 1st semester
BLUE: indicates when classes are in session for 2nd semester
RED: indicates when classes are not in session due to a holiday
Please note Fall 2025 resumes after Winter Break. Also note that many churches hold Good Friday services in early April, which is why there will be no classes on Friday, April 3rd. Additionally, many homeschool families have older children enrolled in public schools, which typically observe spring break the week after Easter Sunday. To accommodate both circumstances, our Spring Break is scheduled from Friday, April 3rd through Thursday, April 9th.
