Hello HSC Instructors!
I hope you're all enjoying your summer. As the season progresses, I wanted to touch base and share some important information. Please take the time to read through this newsletter.
Keep an eye out for a separate newsletter I will be sending early next week. HSC will be introducing a $15 registration fee for in-person classes and a $5 registration fee for live-online classes. We've managed to avoid a registration fee until now, but rising costs for leases, liability insurance, and database maintenance necessitate this change. We'll be updating our website with this information over the weekend. The newsletter will provide all the details.
Lastly, please remember to check your emails and voice messages regularly, and clear out your inbox frequently to ensure it's available for incoming calls from inquiring parents.

We should have the 2024-2025 instructor agreement emailed to you sometime in mid-July for signatures. I will send out an email alert so you know to look for it. If you have any questions in the meantime, please contact me.
Have you checked out our Testimonials page on the HSC website? If not, please do so! We need as many instructors as possible to contact your former students and send them this short Survey. Their feedback will help us add to our testimonial page and help showcase your classes. Thank you!
Last year, HSC instructor Nataly Jewel created a Google Classroom Demo video.We encourage you to watch it and consider using Google Classroom to organize and archive your lesson plans, reading assignments, and video links. Our goal is to streamline information for our families, making it easier for them to access. If everyone uses Google Classroom, parents will become familiar with the format. HSC has provided a "Links" section in your Instructor Portal where you can paste the direct link to your Google Classroom account for your students.
It's never too early to check your rosters and send a brief note to parents. Let them know what you'll be working on this summer and how excited you are to serve their student in the fall. Many families are new to homeschooling, and a message from you would encourage them and reinforce their commitment to your class!
Do you have a flyer you'd like us to share on our social media channels? We recommend using Canva, a FREE and invaluable tool for creating eye-catching flyers. Alternatively, you can create short videos to advertise your classes. For clarity, consider making a separate video for each class.

HSC is hosting an informal "Meet & Greet the Instructors and Campus Tour" event. This will help families get acclimated with the campuses and ensure our first week of classes runs smoothly. In early August, I will send an invite for you to RSVP.
During the event, instructors will be available in their classrooms for families and students to meet. Classroom signs and schedules will be posted on the doors for parents and students to do a mock walkthrough.
Live-Online Instructors are welcome to participate at any of our in-person locations: Capo Beach, Fountain Valley, or Riverside.
