SPECTATORS

We are asking the family members interested in attending their child's fun run on Friday, November 22, to pre-register by midnight on Tuesday, 11/19, by completing the spectator pre-registration form.

8:30-9:00 Pre-K and ECSE

9:00-9:45 Kindergarten and 1st Grade

10:00-10:45 2nd and 3rd Grades

11:00-11:45 4th and 5th Grades

In order to pre-register, in addition to completing the form, your ID must be scanned into our V-Soft system at the front office prior to the day of the event. If you have received a name badge from the front office this year, you have already completed this step. If you have not received a name badge this year, you may come up to the school at any time to pre-scan your ID. Visitors who do not pre-register will have to go through the front office to sign in on the day of the event. Be aware that with a large number of visitors, this may take some time and may result in late arrival to the fun run.

TO VOLUNTEER:

If you have completed your volunteer background check for THIS year and want to volunteer to help out for part or all of this event on Friday, we would love to have your help at our Apex Fun Run. You sign up on the Apex Fun Run VOLUNTEER sign up link.

At Lincoln Elementary, we are committed to providing a well-rounded, enriching experience for all our students and to being fiscally responsible. Our campus operates with three different budgets that are targeted for different, specific purposes. We have our general fund, our activity fund, and our Title I funds. I've previously shared information about our Title I funds and how those are used. This week, I wanted to share information about our campus activity fund

What Is the Campus Activity Fund?

The Campus Activity Funds are accumulated from the collection of fees, donations, commissions, and school approved money-raising activities. Activity funds are used to promote the general welfare of the school and the educational development and morale of all students. This is where the money from our Apex fundraiser goes. Any unused campus activity funds roll over at the end of the year to the next year.

How Are Campus Activity Funds Used?

The primary purpose of this fund is to enhance the student experience. Here are some examples of how these funds may be utilized:

• Student Recognition: Celebrating academic achievements, attendance milestones, and good citizenship through awards and incentives.
• Campus Events: Supporting school-wide events such as Field Day, student performances, cultural celebrations, and special assemblies.
• Educational Enrichment: Providing resources for extracurricular programs , field trips, and other learning opportunities outside the classroom.
• Positive Behavior Support: Rewarding students through our behavior management programs, such as our Pawsitivity Cart and positive office referrals.
• School Spirit Activities: Purchasing items like banners, spirit items, or decorations for events that foster school pride and community.

How You Can Support the Fund

The Campus Activity Fund thrives on the support of our community. Here are ways you can contribute:

• Participate in fundraising events organized by the school, such as our current Apex Fundraiser, or our Friday Hat Day, where students can wear a hat each Friday that they bring a $1 donation.
• Donate directly to the fund—every contribution, big or small, makes a difference!
• Volunteer your time during fundraising events or activities that benefit the fund.

Thank you for being an essential part of the Lincoln Elementary family and for helping us create memorable, meaningful experiences for our students. Together, we can continue to make our school a place where every child thrives!

One of our campus goals is to build more parent involvement on our campus. As parents, you know your child best. We want to partner with you to consistently make our school better. Below are several opportunities where you can be involved or provide feedback.

• Apex Fun Run Helper - If you have completed your volunteer background check for THIS year and have some time on Friday, 11/22, we would love to have your help at our Apex Fun Run. You can sign up here.
• Apex Spectator Pre-Registration - If you are coming to watch your child participate in the fun run on Friday, please complete this spectator pre-registration form by midnight on Tuesday.

• Parent Feedback Form - Any time you want to share your thoughts, you can email, call, or make an appointment to visit. Dear Parents,

I am really excited about the Sport Stacking unit we are currently doing in PE. Sport Stacking is an exciting sport where students stack and unstack 12-specially designed cups (Speed Stacks). Sport Stacking uses both sides of the body and brain developing important athletic and academic skills.

I have Speed Stacks Sets and StackMats for all students to purchase here at the school. Here’s why you should participate:

• Sport Stacking is healthy for kids.
• Regular Sets are $25.00. Pro Series Sets are $30.00. StackMats (mat, timer and gear bag) are $30.00. You pay no shipping.
• Speed Stacks Sets and StackMats are available for immediate purchase. First come, first served on color and design choices.

Lunch visitors who are on a child's emergency contact list are welcome to eat with that child at one of our 3 reserved lunch visitor tables during the student's lunch period. Visitors will need to check in at the front office with their ID and get a visitor badge. Please do not invite other students to join you or provide food or snacks for other students. When lunch is over, all students will line up with their class. Visitors will return to the front office to turn in their visitor badge. Students should not bring other students with them to join their guests for lunch. Food should not be provided to other students than the child the guests are visiting.

A friendly reminder, we do not have an open lunch policy so please do not order food for your child from outside vendors to be delivered to the school during the school day (i.e. Uber Eats, Grub Hub, Door Dash, or any kind of delivery service). This becomes a safety concern when staff need to leave the front office to deliver food to students or take their focus off of families who have business in the office. Food deliveries also increase the number of unfamiliar people entering the building. Additionally, our lunch times are very tight and do not allow for late deliveries. We cannot allow for learning to be disrupted by early or late food deliveries. Thank you for understanding our focus on safety and uninterrupted instructional time.

Celebrate your child’s birthday and raise money for our LES activity fund. These funds are used to pay for field trips and special activities for our students and staff.

You can have your child’s first name and initial of last name (i.e. Kerri A.) displayed on our marquee and/or our internal hallway monitors for the week of his/her birthday for a small donation to our activity fund. If you choose to have their birthday recognition on the hallway monitors, you have the option to include a picture of your child for an additional $5 donation. If you child has a summer birthday, we can recognize their half-birthday.

School Hours:

• Doors open at 7:50
• Tardy bell rings, and class begins at 8:15. (This is the time students are expected to be in their seats in the classroom.)
• School day ends at 3:40

We are working hard to maximize each and every minute our students are here. Students who arrive after 8:15 are considered tardy and will need to be walked into the front door of the building and signed in by a parent or guardian. If your child needs to leave early, they may be checked out through the front office by a parent or guardian no later than 3:15 pm.

Attendance is of critical importance to your child's academic success. Parents should enter the absence information through Family Access in Skyward within 48 hours of the absence.

Changes in transportation need to be made prior to 2:00 in order to allow time for the messages to be communicated with the appropriate staff member. To request a change of transportation, either

1. Send a note with your child,
2. Email LincolnElementaryTransit@misd.org with the note and a copy of your driver's license, or
3. Come to the school with a copy of your driver's license.

Lincoln Elementary is a Pre-K through 5th grade campus in Montgomery ISD that opened in the fall of 2018. We are dedicated to collaboration that focuses on ensuring high levels of learning for every student, every day, in a safe and supportive environment.
