Newsletter: Week Of 6/5/2023
Good Afternoon Blair Families,
The count down is on...only 4.5 school days remaining! Our last day of school is Friday, June 9th with an early dismissal of 12:00pm. I want to thank all of our students and parents for a wonderful school year. We wish all of our 5th Grade students the best of luck and we look forward to seeing all of our students next year. I hope you enjoy this week's family newsletter.
Tuesday, June 6 - Hat/Headgear Day
Wednesday, June 7 - Neon Day
Thursday, June 8 - Jersey/Favorite Team Day
Friday, June 9 - Luau Day
All medication and medical supplies will need to be picked up by an adult by June 9, 2023 at 12 pm. Any medications left after this time will be disposed of safely. If you have any questions please feel free to call Nurse Brooke at (910) 350-2045 Ext. 70768
The current school year bus requests will roll over into the new school year, and community stops will continue to be assigned. If your child‘s current home address and school remain the same for the 2023-2024 school year, there is nothing additional you need to do. However, if your child requires a new community bus stop or you’re assigned to a stop as an exception, families must make transportation requests at least three weeks before the first day of school to ensure their child will have transportation. Families can contact their school's main office to request a bus stop. The deadline dates for new requests are below:
August 7, 2023 - Traditional Schools
August 15, 2023 - Pre K
Bus stop requests made after the deadline will not be processed until after the first two weeks of school. This will help ensure that route assignments are accurate and efficient, eliminating double and triple trips on the first day and first week of school. Therefore, we encourage you to request a Bus Pass for your child as soon as possible if you know there will be a change. These updates will help make transportation to and from school smoother for everyone. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us or visit the transportation division website.

Proud To Be A Title 1 School
What does it mean to be a Title 1 School?
The Title 1 Program is the largest federally funded educational program in the country. Funds are provided to support schools with 40% or more low-income students. Low-income students are determined by the total number of students enrolled in the free and reduced lunch program.
What is the main focus of Title 1?
Title 1 schools in New Hanover County are "school-wide” Title 1 schools. This means
that the focus is helping ALL students and ensuring that they are provided equitable opportunities in order to meet the high standards expected of ALL children.
How can funds be used at Title 1 Schools?
The following are examples how schools can use Title 1 funds: improve curriculum, instructional activities, parental involvement, program improvement, and to increase staff support.
