From the Principal.... Matt Clark
Good afternoon parents and guardians. I hope everyone’s had a wonderful week and is looking forward to a pleasant September weekend. Middle school presents its challenges—for parents, students, and staff alike. But amidst these challenges, why do we persist?
While students must be here, our mission extends beyond mere attendance. The heart of navigating middle school successfully lies in fostering relationships.
At Thompson, we prioritize building strong, positive connections. We strive to cultivate an environment where students feel safe, supported, and valued. It is through these bonds that we can nurture your children academically, socially, and emotionally.
So, why do we do it? The staff at Thompson are committed to nurturing these relationships with our students. They are here to guide, educate, and mentor tirelessly, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Amidst the trials of middle school, let us remember that it’s the relationships we forge that truly matter. Together, as a community, we can empower TMS students to thrive during this pivotal stage in their education.
Thank you for your continued support, and I wish you all a wonderful weekend ahead!

Math Corner with Mrs. Zitella
Did you know that baseball involves a wide range of mathematical concepts? One example is how mathematics is used to measure and analyze the speed at which a batter swings and how fast the speed of the ball comes off the bat. This is known as exit velocity. Believe it or not, kinetic energy (physics), momentum (mass and velocity), and collision dynamics (engineering) are calculations used to determine the power of the hit. Science and math work well together! Fun Fact…The highest exit velocity in the MLB is recorded to be 122.4 mph. So, let’s go mathematicians! Our baseball players need your expertise!
Coming Soon: Walk & Roll to School Day October 9th!
District 303 is proud to partner with the Glenbard Parent Series (GPS) to offer our families broader access to information sessions and resources that support their child’s development.
For decades, GPS has been offering free programs that aim to empower and strengthen families, individuals and communities. As a partner organization, District 303 will support promoting upcoming programs and their importance to our local community.
