FJVD Weekly Info
We Live the Word!
From the Principal's Desk
Dear FJVD Families,
With Veteran's Day coming up this Monday, I want to thank those in our community who have served or currently serve in our nation's military. Whether it be parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, or siblings, the Fr. Doyle family thanks you for your service. Our Veteran's Day Prayer Service and Boots on the Ground Memorial yesterday was a beautiful tribute to these dedicated men and women both within our community and across the country.
We had another great week here at Fr. Doyle! Walking through school, I am always amazed at the great things happening in our classrooms. Students are exploring topics through hands on learning, participating in riveting debates and discussions, utilizing technology to assist in the learning process, and developing important life skills from teamwork and creative problem solving to conflict resolution. It's a great time to be an FJVD Saint!
A few reminders about upcoming community events:
Saints John and Paul Parish Snowflake Bazaar - Raffle Tickets on Sale!
Come visit me at the Raffle Table next weekend (11/16-11/17) at our annual Parish Snowflake Bazaar. The good news is, you can purchase your raffle tickets ahead of time! Tickets for the Major Raffle - including a grand prize of $2,000! - will be on sale in the school lobby before school each day next week. Be sure to pick up your tickets ($2 per ticket, or six for $10)!
Please do stop by the Bazaar Saturday (11/16) or Sunday (11/17), it's going to be a spectacular event!
Giving Back and Giving Thanks Food Drive
The PTO will be hosting a food drive next week - November 12th-15th. Each family is asked to donate one healthy, non-perishable food item. These items will then be donated to local food pantries to assist those in need in our community during this Thanksgiving season. You can learn more about the food drive by clicking here, or by checking out the flyer under Forms and Important Documents. Thank you so much for your donations!
Barrington Book Fair
Stop by Barrington Books on Saturday, November 16th between 9am and 9pm! There will be read-alouds, an opportunity to meet with the author of the Frozen II Little Book, and a performance by our Singing Saint Choir! Not to mention, 10% of all sales will benefit the school. It's sure to be a great event! See the flyer under Forms and Important Documents for more information.
Lastly, as cold weather approaches, a reminder to please encourage your child to wear their jackets and cold-weather clothing to school each day. This ensures they are safe and warm for outdoor recess. Thank you!
Wishing you all a restful long weekend!
Go Saints!
Sincerely,
Mr. Peloquin

Purple Bins help our school!
Aluminum Can Tab Collection
What: Aluminum can tabs are being collected
Why: To support the Ronald McDonald House in Providence
How can you help? Save can tabs and send them in to Mr. Godin’s room.
Bottle Cap Drive
We’re excited to share that our school is part of the Coca-Cola Give program. This opens up
Father John V. Doyle School to new funding opportunities to help improve learning environments for students. The best part? Donations don’t come out of your own pocket. When you make Coca-Cola purchases, you simply send in bottle caps or product codes from boxes of beverages and our school receives a donation.
All caps and codes should be sent to Mr. Godin. Codes will be entered on one account to gain larger and quicker donations.
Thank you!
