Pop Show is a FUN event and the kids are already working hard at preparations for our final performance this year! Please note, that with Pop Show come several required after school rehearsals that were on the calendar given out in August. They are REQUIRED double daily grades for all students who are academically eligible to participate in the show.

Rehearsal Dates

Monday, May 6: ALL STUDENTS REQUIRED 3 pm - 7 pm

Tuesday, May 7: ONLY SELECTED SOLOISTS are required

Wednesday, May 8: ALL STUDENTS REQUIRED FOR A FULL DRESS REHEARSAL 3 pm - 7 pm

Please note, students are required to stay for the entire rehearsal and should have the full time reserved. There may be instances where we finish early, but students should plan to be at school until the noted time.

Pop Show is an exciting concert that has several costume changes. We have been discussing costumes and what pieces are provided in class, but to ensure we are all on the same page, costume lists for each class are below as some groups will need to provide some pieces:

Pop Show tickets will go on sale beginning Monday, April 29. Each ticket is $2 for general seating.

Tickets can be purchased on RevTrak and selecting "Pop Show Tickets" or by sending cash/check (made out to Travis High School Choir) to school. Tickets will be available at the door, however, I strongly encouraging purchasing ahead of time. All tickets are for general seating.

Pop Show takes a village and there are several volunteer opportunites for parents to help out on the night of the show. If you are able and willing, please visit the Sign-Up Link to sign up for a job. Available jobs include selling/checking tickets at the door on May 9th and hall monitors for the student holding areas.

We will have one last choir social event on Monday, May 13th from 5-6:30 pm. There will be an ice cream sundae bar, karaoke, and the HIGHLY-anticipated "Pie Mr. Miner in the Face" for those that earned it during the Fall Fundraiser. This is a FREE event and open to all choir students.

I am so thrilled to share that next year the Travis Tiger Choir will be traveling to San Antonio, TX for a FUN trip on April 11-12, 2025. Anyone who may be interested is welcome to attend an interest/Q&A meeting on May 16th at 6:00 pm in the choir. This will be an opportunity for everyone to learn about the trip including itinerary, cost, policies, as well as a Q&A. We will be using Green Light Group Tours as our travel company and they really are the BEST of the best. I have used them for in-state and out-of-state trips and have never had anything but a positive experience. I hope that many of you will join us in this meeting. Attending this meeting is NOT a commitment, it is merely an opportunity for me to present the trip and answer any questions you may have.

We have several parents "graduating" this year and are looking for new parents to step in and help on the Choir Booster Board for next school year. We will be voting in the new Board at our May 20 meeting and are in need of a Vice-President and additional "at large" members. If you are interested in helping out, please email me so I can pass your name on to our Booster President.

All uniforms need to be dry-cleaned and then returned to campus IN THE DRY CLEANING BAG WITH RECEIPT attached. ALL tuxedo pieces must be dry cleaned including pants, vest, tie, and jacket. Uniforms turned in without showing proof of being dry-cleaned will be assessed a dry cleaning fee.

Students who have not turned in their uniform by this Friday, April 26th will be placed on the fines and fees list.

Award Ceremonies: Chorale has been asked to perform the National Anthem for the two upcoming award ceremonies. They are on May 2nd at 6:00 pm, and May 7th at 6:00 pm. Uniform is gray choir polo and either black or khaki pants/skirts.

Graduation for Travis has been announced to take place on Thursday, May 23rd at 7:30 pm at the new Fort Bend Epicenter. This is a required performance for all Chorale students so please be sure to mark your calendars now. Transportation will be provided for students.

Choir fees are now past due but you can still pay in installments via Revtrak. For a description of choir fees, please see the document on the choir website under the "Documents" tab. You can find the RevTrak link below or via the choir website under "Choir Fees." Students need to have their full choir fee paid in order to take their uniform home.

Now that our year is in full-swing, I'd like to again remind parents that in order to volunteer you MUST have the FBISD Background check completed. We will be needing volunteers for social events, trips, and assistance during contests and concerts, so PLEASE consider filling out this form as soon as possible to ensure the district office has time to process it.
