Harmony and Glocester Manton Libraries’ Craft Tables

Youth of all ages, discover the indoor craft table at both libraries. Each library is different, so be sure to visit both places.
Weekly Take and Make Crafts

Children of all ages, visit both libraries weekly to pick up a craft! Craft kits will be different at each location. Some kits may require help for younger crafters.
Hummingbird Tracking

We will be tracking hummingbirds as they make their way back to Rhode Island. Come check out a map that will be displayed at both libraries along with some activities.

Science with Ms. Jen - Catapults
Tuesday, March 4, 5 p.m.

Age Level: Ages 5 and up – Younger children may need a caregiver’s help.
Join us to make St. Patrick’s Day themed catapults. Once the catapults are built, we will be trying them out using gold coins to aim at black pots.
Beginner Children’s Fabric Tufting Craft

Age Level: Ages 5 and up
Use the fabric tool to punch fabric squares through each hole in the design card to create 3D, textured art! You can then put your art on display using the loop at the top of each card.
Leprechaun in a Jar

Decorate mason jars with a Leprechaun inside. We will also provide a candle to turn this fun jar into a lantern. This is available while supplies last.

Project Chick

Join us to learn about the life cycle of birds, as well as how to care for chickens. Learn about it all through hands-on activities and live chicks! Eggs will be at the Harmony Library in an incubator. Feel free to visit over the following three weeks to see when they hatch! Note: Once they are hatched, if you are interested in taking home some of the chicks, email glocesteryouth@gmail.com.
LEGO Challenge: Can you build a car?

Join us to make sensory bottles using water beads, glitter, and some other fun stuff. This is available while supplies last. We will give children the opportunity to get creative and build anything they choose with LOTS of LEGOs. They can work on their own creations or build as a team. The Glocester Manton Library will provide the LEGOs while the kids provide the imagination! LEGO books with lots of ideas will also be available. We will then display your creations in the library.

Container Gardening

Join us at the Harmony Library for a presentation on container gardening by URI Master Gardener Joseph Mirsky. Learn the best practices for container gardening, how to upcycle everyday items into plant vessels, and how to transform any corner of your yard or deck into a vibrant, productive ecosystem.
Cookbook Club

With St. Joseph's Day quickly approaching, our cooks will be ready to prepare tasty Italian dishes. Our cookbook for March is Lidia's from our Family Table to Yours by Lidia Bastianich.
This is how the club works: every month, members pick up a copy of that month's cookbook selection at the library and choose a recipe to make and prepare for the next month's meeting. We will sample each other's dishes and discuss our cooking experiences.

Fearless Art

This art club is guided by the likes and interests of its members. In the past, we have explored graphite, charcoal, colored pencils, and watercolor. We will continue with watercolor and begin to focus more closely on botanical watercolor projects. You will find the Fearless Folks to be creative, supportive, and kind.

Writers’ Group

Share your writing with your peers! The Harmony Library Writers’ Group is open to writers in all genres and forms, including poetry. Bunny Bowls and Easter Chicks for Adults

Participants will work with air-dry clay to create two Easter-themed items – a bunny bowl and a feathered chick. All materials will be provided. Participants should register for only ONE session. Note: Registration opens on Tuesday, March 4 at 6 p.m.
