Hosford Middle School
September 23rd-27th
Dear Families,
This week we will have our first early release at 1:45 pm on September 25th. Buses will run on a modified schedule to bring students home. Then, in the evening we'll have Back to School Night from 6 pm - 8 pm.
A Talented and Gift Presentation, Multilingual Learners Parent Meeting and Special Education Meeting will take place starting at 6 pm in various locations. A whole group kick-off will start at 6:30 pm in the Gym, and then you'll go to each class for 8 mins. If your child is not TAG identified, a multilingual learner or receiving special education services, you do not need to arrive until before 6:30 pm.
Please log-into ParentVue to have your student's schedule viewable. This is also a great spot to check on attendance, tardies and grades. Wear your walking shoes and get ready to hustle around the building! Click here to see the schedule.
Thank you,
Jill Liddle, Proud Principal

Library Updates
Hello from the Hosford Library! We're excited to have your students checking out our books and enjoying the library space. If you haven't already, please check out our welcome letter for the year!
We'd like to let you know about two things. First off, we have some books still missing from last year. We will be sending out notices this week to students and families with fines on their library accounts. These can be either paid in SchoolPay (we can't accept payment at school) or if the books are returned, we cancel the fines. Please contact us if taking care of these fines is a challenge.
Secondly, we have a wish list for the library, mostly of books that need to be replaced. If you have a moment, please take a look to see if there are any books on the list you might have at home and are willing to part with OR are willing to purchase for us. Thanks for looking!

Please Complete Yearly Verification
Please complete yearly verification in ParentVue and sign the Technology Consent Policy and Acknowledgements . Hosford only has about 200 families who have completed this process so far.
Funds for Hosford!
This is the PTSA's biggest fundraiser of the year and it is happening now!
The no-stuff fundraiser was started in 2019 to celebrate 100 years of education at Hosford. This donation drive allows the PTSA to fund student activities, host staff appreciation events and provide teacher grants for technology, books, art supplies and classroom equipment. In other words, it makes an immediate and powerful impact on our school. Every bit helps!

You can choose to make a one-time donation or set up recurring payments. Thank you!
Hygiene Closet Donations Needed
Hosford Hygiene Closet
The hygiene closet is looking for donations! If you pick up extra deodorant, body wash, or face wash and would like to donate to Hosford, please bring it to the front office. Deodorant is our biggest need, but all unopened hygiene products, socks, and underwear are appreciated. Thank you!

After School Programs
Thank you to Chris Tyler for organizing After School Programming for our students. Please click the link below to review and read about how to sign up.
Off and Away All Day
Cell phones, ear buds, headphones and smart watches are off and away all day. Please talk with your child at home so they can prepare for this.
If your child has listening to music as an accommodation on a 504 plan or Individual Education Plan, we have wired headphones that they will wear to access that accommodation. If your child needs noise cancelling headphones, we will have options for this as well.
