Board Vacancy Announcement
Dear CCA Community,
The CCA Board of Directors Vacancy Committee is soliciting nominations for the one open CCA Board position. Vacancies occur on the Board most often when a member leaves the school or is unable to continue to serve due to personal or professional reasons.
A vacancy is different from an open election. CCA Board members serve three-year terms. A vacancy is tied to the exiting Board member’s term length, which in this vacancy case, is 8 months. The individual appointed to the vacancy by the Vacancy Committee will serve until June 2025.
If you are interested in filling this vacancy, please click here to complete the Nomination Form -
If you have questions regarding the Board Vacancy, please email the Board Vacancy Committee directly at vacancy@cherrycreekacademy.org
If you would like more information about the CCA Board, please click to see the document on the Board Frequently Asked Questions.
The Timeline for the Vacancy Committee Process is as follows:
On Monday, September 23, 2024, solicitation for nominations for the vacancy will close at 4:00 pm.
The Vacancy Committee will begin the Review Process on Monday, September 24, 2024, until Thursday, September 26, 2024.
Vacancy Committee Interviews will be conducted Monday, September 30, 2024 through Friday, October 4, 2024.
The Vacancy Committee will recommend the top candidates to the Board on Friday, October 4, 2024.
The Board will vote on a final candidate at the October 8, 2024, Board Meeting.
Foundation Update on Art Room
As a reminder, CCA Foundation successfully raised over $23,000 from our generous community at the 2024 Fun Run. Additionally, Sponsors donated approximately $12,000 for a grand total of $35,000 in support of the school's largest fundraiser!
Thank you CCA Families! We couldn't do it without each and every one of you and a big thank you to our precious children who ran in the Summer heat.
While every effort was made to complete the Art Room renovation over Summer break; Administration, Foundation and the School Board are taking extra time and care to evaluate the build-out and its service providers. Foundation remains diligent in our effort to be good stewards of the funds you have entrusted to our safe-keeping. Related to this duty of care is to share that the School is evaluating a much larger renovation project that will include the Art Room. In the event this renovation project will move forward, the Foundation will look for other opportunities for school improvements. The Foundation will continue to support the School as financial needs and priorities dictate. We will make every effort to keep the Community posted on the progress on the Art Room renovation or any future CCA projects. Please feel free to reach out to foundation@cherrycreekacademy.org with any questions or concerns.

Carline Reminders
Morning Drop Off:
The line is long, but it will move quickly when everyone follows the rules.
- Stay in line! Do not pull around the waiting cars or cut in line.
- All students need to be ready to exit the car (passenger side only) once the car has pulled up and stopped.
- Please limit the use of the trunk for holding student backpacks. This takes up time and we have had some cars slide back into the other cars, especially when it has been icy and snowy.
- If you need to talk, sign papers or give lengthy directions or goodbyes, we ask that you please pull into a neighborhood or park on Elmira Circle at the bottom of the hill and walk your student/students in from there.
- The staff outside are there to assist your students. Please stay in your car and pull up. Should your student need assistance, please let a staff member know.
- Do not get out of your car. If you feel you need to watch your student walk through the front door, you will need to park in the neighborhood and walk them to the school, using the crosswalk at Caley and Dayton.
Afternoon Pick-up Times and Locations:
- Please pick up your student at the time specified. Being early backs up traffic and causes significant issues. Our times are staggered, and we have three pickup locations to allow students to be picked up promptly.
- Please make sure you are pulling your car up. Do NOT park and leave openings because you want to sit in the shade or you don't want to have your students not have to "walk too far." When you leave space, other cars assume you are too early, and you are allowing cars to pull in front of you.
*Pick-up locations are subject to change according to student enrollment.
- If you arrive before your student’s assigned pick-up time, you will be asked to leave and come back at your scheduled time.
- Kindergarten 3:00 pm, Caley Front Lot
- First Grade 3:10 pm, Dayton Back Lot
- Second Grade 3:15 pm, Caley Front Lot
- Third Grade 3:15 pm, Dayton Back Lot
