A Message from Ms. Brown:
Dear Lamar Parents,
Can you believe we are already through September? Time flies when you are having fun. October is just around the corner, and we have lots of great activities planned. Let's make it a great one, together! Please see below for some important information:
PRIDE Lunch:
We held our first PRIDE lunch of the year. I am so proud of the character that our Leopards display each day. Let's keep up the great character! See you next month!
National Walk to School Day:
On Friday, October 4th, we will be holding our walk to school day event. Students will walk to school with their families. I will send final details out early this week, so you can join us.
Fall Conferences:
Your teachers will be in touch soon to schedule your student's fall conference. Parent/Teacher conferences are wonderful opportunity for you to visit with your child's teacher about your student's progress. This time can also give your the chance to share any important information about your child with their teacher. The teachers will be scheduling their conferences during the day or on one of our Late Night Parent Conference nights that will be held on Thursday, October 10th and 17th from 4:00-7:00 p.m.
Big Shout Out to HEB at Market Street:
I want to take the time to thank HEB Market Street for donating supplies for our students. These supplies will definitely be put to use. They also donated money to spoil our teachers, too. We are very thankful for this community member that has gone above and beyond to ensure the success of our Leopards.
Destination Imagination:
It is time to start thinking about Destination Imagination. Please see below for some important training dates that are coming up for DI. If you are interested in volunteering to support, please reach out to Mrs. Goff in 4th grade.
Attendance:
Your student's attendance is very important to us. In order for your student to learn, they need to be in the classroom each day to participate in the learning. If your student needs to be out due to illness, please make sure to retrieve a doctor's note to send with your child upon their return. We are striving for 100% attendance each and every day.
Lunch Charges:
Students will be limited to the number of times they can charge when eating breakfast and lunch. There are students who have already accumulated balances. Your child will be given an alternate meal if they reach 15 charges total. Administration will be in touch if your child is affected by this, so you can take care of the balances and plan ahead to ensure your students are able to get the full meal. The application for free/reduced lunch is linked in a button below. Please take time to fill out your application. You have to reapply every year and the drop off date for Free/Reduced Lunch is September 25th. If you have not applied by then, your student will lose their ability to use the Free/Reduced Lunch option. Please apply today!
From The Counselor:
The Hispanic Heritage Month Projects have come in and are on display in the front foyer. We will be holding an Open House on Wednesday, October 9th, so families can come in and enjoy the projects. This is a come and go event. We will continue celebrating Hispanic Heritage month through October 15th.
We are looking forward to a great week together! Let me know if you have any questions or need any clarification on the information shared in The Limelight. Thanks!
Hugs,
Alison

Estimados padres de Lamar,
¿Pueden creer que ya hemos terminado septiembre? El tiempo vuela cuando te diviertes. Ya va empezar octubre y tenemos muchas actividades planeadas. ¡Nos vamos a divertir, juntos! Consulte a continuación información importante:
Almuerzo PRIDE:
¡Gracias!
Abrazos,
Alison
