A Veterans Day Tribute
Veterans have dedicated their lives to protecting our freedoms, often at great personal risk and sacrifice. Remembering them shows respect for those sacrifices, whether they served in combat, supported operations, or maintained peace in challenging environments. By honoring and listening to Veterans' stories, we gain a deeper understanding of our nation’s past and the impacts of military service on individuals and society. By remembering veterans, we uphold our collective responsibility to honor the lives given in service and ensure that their contributions are never forgotten.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Salute to Veterans ceremony Friday Together, we honored the courage and sacrifices of our veterans with heartfelt respect and gratitude.
A special thank you to our student volunteers, speakers, musicians, and organizers, including Ms. Center and Mr. McCarthy, who helped make the event meaningful and respectful. Your efforts allowed us to show our deep appreciation for those who have served in the United States Armed Forces.
Let us continue to remember the sacrifices our veterans have made and to show our gratitude each day.
Thank you once again for being part of this meaningful tribute.
Yours in education,
Dr. Maguire

DECA Day on the Hill
Ten of our DECA members were able to attend the DECA Day on the Hill in Boston. They heard from state DECA officers and some of our state's legislators. To top off the day, they were given an amazing tour of the State House by Representative Steve Xiahros, who shared details of his work as a representative and of his experiences as a Gold Star father and with Nero's Bill. This is a great opportunity for our students and we look forward to attending again next year!
DECA Service for Veterans Day
Thank you to members of DECA who volunteered Saturday morning aiding the efforts at the MA National Cemetery to place flags on the graves of over 75,000 Veterans and spouses. It was truly incredible for our student to participate in this event for the second year in a row, and especially special to be able to visit the grave of Steven Xiarhos' son Nicholas, as it marked the beginning of DECA's involvement in Big Nick's Ride for the Fallen Last Year. Representative Xiarhos also spoke as part of our Veterans Day ceremony this past Friday to share his story as a Gold Star Family.
For those unable to attend, there is still an opportunity to participate. Next Saturday at the MA National Cemetery 9-11 a.m., volunteers will collect back the flags that were placed. If you are interested, sign up is located outside Mrs. Maurice's room.
