Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays
We would like to wish everyone a very happy holidays over Christmas and New Year. It has been a fantastic 2024, and we appreciate all of the support from the Willow Park Community. We have a very successful school thanks to partnership between whānau and staff, and this has led to a wonderful cohort of students that strive to achieve the very best they can be.
We have farewelled our Year 6 students who we wish the very best of luck in their next stage of their educational journey. They have done our school proud through the student leadership and role modelling for others. We will miss them!
Building Work in the Holidays
After the huge disappointment at the beginning of the year missing out on the new two-storey block of classrooms that we were expecting to be deliver in 2024, we have managed to access additional funds from the Ministry of Education to refurbish the relocatable classrooms that will remain on our site for the foreseeable future.
During the holiday break signficant works will now be completed on Rooms 9, 10, 12 and 13 to ensure these classrooms have new roofs, flooring, ceilings and bathrooms and so will be top quality classrooms for 2025. There will also be painting work around these classrooms and Rooms 14, 15, 16 and 17 so they will look neat and tidy for the new year too.
This is a significant project for the school and so over the holidays the CML team will fence off around these classrooms. This team completed the renovation work to Room 1 to 4, and to a fantastic job, they know our school and will ensure that health and safety is a priority as they are aware the school will be used over the break with the sKids holiday programme and the swimming pool use. Neither of these will not be impacted by the work.
There will be vehicles coming in and out of the school carpark, including the delivery of the new roofing in the next couple of days so if your children or family are using the school site, please still be mindful of the work that is happening. The car park area will be used by the builders and so the gates may be open. Please do not use the car park if using the swimming pool or school grounds as the gates will be locked at different times through the day .
