Dr. Jones quickly rose to the top of all candidates for this position. She demonstrated an understanding and deep belief in the mission and core values of Edgewood Campus School. Her dedication to middle school aged children was evident in her interview. Her references were glowing and her credentials are impeccable. I know you will welcome her with open arms to our team! We are excited for you to meet Dr. Jones. We will host a reception for her and Mrs. Young in August before school starts.

Hello Edgewood community,
My name is Heather Jones and I am so thrilled and grateful to serve as your Assistant Principal at Edgewood Campus School! This position found me and I can already sense that this is the beginning of an incredible partnership.
My husband and I have been married for 23 years and we have two children. We are a huge soccer family and it is safe to say that if there is a game on, somebody is watching it with a cup of tea in hand. My husband is from England and in our household you rarely get “football” without tea. Besides soccer, I enjoy running and experiencing the beauty in nature and find those two things very cathartic.
I always wanted to be a teacher, and my love for and desire for working with children solidified when I was sixteen and got my first summer job as a camp counselor. I worked at that camp for six summers and in that time my passion for working with children grew.
I have 15 years of experience in education in various roles. I started my educational career as a substitute teacher in the Madison Metropolitan School District, moved on to the district’s French Bilingual Resource Specialist, then French teacher, and finally I was the Dean of Students at one of the MMSD middle schools. Besides working in education, I also served in the Wisconsin Army National Guard for 8 years where I worked on radio communications networks.
I received my Bachelors of Arts in French from the University of Wisconsin Madison, my Masters of Secondary Education from Grand Canyon University, and most recently graduated from Baylor University in May, 2024 with my Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Organizational Change. It is with my cumulative time in education, my experience as the Dean of Students, and the wealth of knowledge from my most recent program that I come to serve you, the Edgewood Community.
While I truly believe that Edgewood found me, what drew me to the school was the focus on the Dominican values. Knowing that our ultimate goal at Edgewood Campus School is to serve and educate children, I will always keep the values at the forefront of our work, and in my day to day interactions. I feel that my authentic-servant leadership style and my focus on relationships align well with the Dominican values. I look forward to working in partnership with the Edgewood community and know that I have something to learn from everyone including students, co-workers, parents, volunteers, alumni, and families just to name a few.
I look forward to meeting you and working with you in and around the Edgewood community, and can not wait for this new school year!
Sincerely,
Dr. Heather Jones
