Transportation Access for all Families!
Districtwide Band Concert - Wednesday, March 19:
We are excited for the district-wide band concert for all students that will take place on Wednesday, March 19th, from 6:30 - 7:30 PM at Greenfield High School. Students are expected to arrive by 6:00 PM. We would love to have a huge audience to support and enjoy this student performance. If your family requires transportation to and from the concert, please fill out this survey or contact the main office at your child's school, to let us know.
MARCH IS SELF AWARENESS MONTH
Self-awareness is having an accurate understanding of ourselves which includes knowing our strengths, our challenges, our hopes, and our emotions. As students learn to be more self-aware, they are better equipped for success in and out of the classroom. Reminding ourselves of our inherent worth on a daily basis supports building confidence and courage in us.
Where's the Superintendent going to be next?
Districtwide Band Concert
Please join me on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at 6:30 pm in the GHS Auditorium for the districtwide band concert for grades 4-12. The students would love the support of the community as they demonstrate their progression of skills and musical talent. We hope to see you there!
Bingo for Books was a Big Hit!
Each elementary school hosted a Bingo for Books family engagement event last week. Students and their families filled the schools for a chance to win some awesome new books to go home with and read. Thank you to the Title I Interventionists who organized this wonderful event!
Discovery School Door Challenge!
As part of Read Across America week, each class at the Discovery School at Four Corners engaged in a "Decorate your Door" challenge with a theme related to their favorite book. As you can see, each class took this assignment very seriously, but Ms. St. Martin's class with Dogman came in 3rd place, Ms. Thayer's class with Where the Wild Things Are came in 2nd place, and drum roll please... Ms. Murdock's class came away the victor in 1st place with their Magic School Bus. Great job everyone!
Yes, yes, yes they do! AEL has spirit, how 'bout you?
The Academy of Early Learning participated in a Reading Spirit Week and had so much fun!

Special Author Visit From Jason Lefebvre
Pre-school and elementary students received a special visit from Author, Jason Lefebvre to celebrate Read Across America Week!

A Taste of World Culture
GHS Foreign Language Department outdid themselves once again with this year's 29th Taste of World Cultures event. The night was filled with singing, dancing, eating, and celebrating all of the diverse cultures that represent Greenfield Public Schools students, staff, and families. It was a beautiful evening that highlighted what makes this school community so unique and cherished.
Look who's been caught bee-ing amazing!
Another week and another wave of rock stars in the Green Wave Nation showing everyone how truly wonderful and amazing our students are! đź’š
We love seeing students show kindness to their peers! Great job!
The Food Service Department was clued in to the fun!
The case is closed! Thank you for celebrating National School Breakfast Week with us. And a special shoutout to our GMS team, who dressed up as their favorite detectives. They always go above and beyond to make sure our students have fun in the cafeteria!
News From our Nurse
Knowing when to keep your child home from school due to illness can sometimes be a difficult decision. Much depends on what type of symptoms your child has. When making this decision, please keep in mind the following guidelines (this includes the guideline for the COVID-19 illness):
Keep your child at home if any one of the following occurs:
- Vomiting within the last 24 hours
- Diarrhea within the last 24 hours
- Temperature of 100 degrees F or higher within the last 24 hours without anti fever medication
- Strep is suspected, but results of the culture have not been confirmed
- Positive throat culture for strep, student may return 24 hours after antibiotic treatment has begun
- Positive COVID-19 test, student may return 24 hours after test result if symptoms improving and no fever for 24 hours, masking recommended
- Any symptoms of acute illness such as persistent cough, runny nose with body aches
Your child should be able to control nasal secretions with proper use of tissues. If there is a cough, it should be infrequent and not likely to be disruptive to the class. Your child should feel that he/she could get through the planned school day without exclusion from outdoor recess or gym.
Your child should look and behave like him/herself for 24 hours before returning to school. Why?
- To protect your child from exposure to more infection before he/she is able to build resistance.
- To protect the other children and staff from communicable disease transmission
*If you have symptoms consistent with the COVID-19 virus or have tested positive for COVID-19, it is strongly recommended that you wear a face mask for at least 5 days upon return to school.
Remember- HAND WASHING is the most effective means of preventing the spread of communicable diseases!
To help prevent the spread of illness at school, please report all communicable illnesses (i.e., strep throat, bacterial infections, COVID-19, etc.) to your school nurse. Please call your child’s school nurse if you have any questions or if you need help determining whether your child is well enough to attend school.
