Did You Know?

That The Corporal Works of Mercy are found in the teachings of Jesus and give us a model for how we should treat others, as if they were Christ in disguise. One of The Corporal Works of Mercy is "Feed The Hungry". At BK we provide many opportunities to feed the hungry with our food bank drives as well as providing food to our BK students through our weekly fruit baskets, whole school meals and snacks available in our office.

Welcome to October!

FOBK, along with the School Council, has been busy making plans for the school year. As you may have noticed, the first phase of the new BK Playground is set to be installed by the end of the month! We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the entire BK community for your efforts over the past three years.

While we celebrate this milestone, we acknowledge that two more phases of the playground still lie ahead. Our focus remains on fundraising, and we are actively seeking corporate sponsors and grants. If you know of any potential contributors for our BK Playground, please let us know.

Although the playground is a priority, other needs within our school community continue to arise. We are collaborating with teachers and staff to understand their needs and determine how FOBK and the School Council can best support them. Some current initiatives include providing new prayer tables for each classroom, as well as financial support for classroom supplies and field trips.

Healthy Hunger is up and running, and we’ve loved seeing all the happy faces at lunch! If you haven’t placed your order yet, please visit Healthy Hunger to make your Monday and Wednesday mornings easier. A huge thank you to the parents who have volunteered to distribute hot lunches—your help has been greatly appreciated. Many hands make light work!

We’ve also added other fundraisers to Healthy Hunger to make purchasing as convenient as possible. Right now, we are offering a Cash Calendar that can be purchased for $25 throughout October. Once purchased, calendars will be emailed out. A winner will be pulled each day in November, and there are awesome cash prizes to be won!
