"What the Hecht"
Monthly Memo by NMS's Nurse, Ms. Hecht
Did you know…those tasty energy drinks at Starbucks that your son/daughter love to drink have 140mg- 205mg caffeine in one serving? One 8oz coffee has 95mg caffeine. Wawa has an * next to all their energy drinks – not recommended for under 18ys old.
Caffeine may cause your child to feel anxious, irritable, have nausea or even headaches. A better choice would be to fill those Stanleys with water 😊

School Attire
We ask for your assistance with ensuring your student is dressed appropriately for school. No matter their career path, there will be dress requirements. School is no different.
Slippers, slides, and sandals without something that goes around the back of their heel are unsafe in crowded hallways and should not be worn. Shirts should touch the top of their pants.
Thank you in advance for your help with this.
NMS Student Handbook
Each school year, NMS students and their families are tasked with reviewing the student handbook: a collection of important information, resources, and policies for middle school students and families. Parents and guardians MUST review this information with their student(s) and acknowledge that the policies have been reviewed.
For your convenience, the student handbook and online policy acknowledgement have been provided below.
Tyler Park and Movie Waivers
Description of both waivers is listed below as well as attached. You only need to send the waiver back to the school if you would like your child removed from the activity.
During the course of the school year, your child’s team may take walks into Tyler Park during their Core Drop Time. If you should object to your child going to Tyler Park please fill out the form and send it back to your child’s homeroom teacher. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
During the course of the school year, your child’s team may show movies during their Core Drop Time. These movies will have ratings of PG or PG-13. The titles of these movies are available below. If you should object to any of the movies on the list please fill out the form and send it back to your child’s homeroom teacher. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
