NTMS Class of 2022 Needs Your Help
The time is coming soon that our 8th graders will be graduating and there is a group of parents that are doing their best to make it as special as possible, but they need your help! PLEASE, if you are financially able, donate for your child and if you can, sponsor another. Help our 8th graders have a special graduation and celebration this year! Anyone can donate!
Our hope is for everyone who is currently financially able, to go online and donate, at minimum, the $50 for a graduation donation for their student and perhaps sponsor an extra student or two who are in need. The more money we raise, the more we will be able to do for our 8th graders.
We are excited to announce our current plan for graduation is to hold an in-person graduation outdoors at a local high school stadium on June 20th with a celebration/party afterwards at NTMS. All money raised will go to celebrating our 8th grade graduates. We hope all donations can be made by May 17th for planning purposes. Families who are currently in difficult financial situations, please know we understand if you are not able to contribute at this time. If there is a way that we can support you, please reach out to our counselor, Jennifer Roscoe at jroscoe@dieringer.wednet.edu.
To Donate please go to the online payments link below (sign in directions are below the link) or mail in your donation. Anyone (not just 8th grade families) can donate and it is appreciated!

Season 4 Sports are Under Way
NTMS Season 4 Sports have begun and will run through June 10th.
To play a sport and participate, your student must have a current physical on file (physicals are good for 2 years), purchase an ASB card ($25.00) and pay a $25.00 sports fee (Maximum of 2 sports fees per year).
Please check to see if your athlete has paid for their ASB card and Sports fees. If your student has not paid for an ASB card (their student ID will reflect an ASB sticker if they have purchased one) or paid the sports fees, they will not be allowed to participate in games. The ASB card and Sports fees can be purchased online through Online Payments & choosing "Items at Student's School" then "Sports".
Games will be added to the NTMS Sports Calendar on the NTMS website as we get the schedules from Auburn School District. Practice schedules will be given and maintained by your athlete's coach.

Robotics Club Sign Up
If you’re interested in building a robot, driving with a remote control, and competing against your classmates here at school, please sign up by Monday, April 25th . At this time there are spots for 26 students. Have your student fill out the Google form Mr. Koosmann posted on Schoology.
Plan to meet Mondays and Wednesdays after school (2:25 to 4:00) on the following dates:
May 2, 4, 11, 16, 18, 23, 25 and June 1, and 6 . There is an activity bus available to take you home on all days or you can arrange a ride home. A detailed schedule with all dates and a permission slip will be sent to you on or before April 28th confirming that you are in the club.
There is no cost to participate.
Your regular attendance is required so that you can complete your robot project in time for the competition. Due to the limited number of spots, only 30 students will be able to attend. In addition preference will be given to students that have not done the club before. If needed we will hold a lottery to determine the participants. Please do not show up to the first club meeting unless you have been notified.
If you have any questions please contact Mr. Koosmann at mkoosmann@dieringer.wednet.edu

Updates to Covid Communication
Since updated Department of Health guidance no longer requires contact tracing, we will send out a letter via email when students shared a space with someone who is Covid positive and may have been exposed. This will, in most cases, be a classroom space. See the link below for an example of the notification letter:
Updated Department of Health Guidance
Updated Covid Testing for Students with Symptoms
We can accept either a negative PCR test or negative antigen/home test for students with symptoms. If your child has just one of the following symptoms which resolves within 24 hours (stuffy nose, runny nose, headache, fatigue, sore throat, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea) your child may return to school without a test. However if your student’s single symptom lasts >24 hours, they have two or more of these symptoms, or one of the following symptoms (fever of 100.4 or greater, chills, shortness of breath/difficulty breathing, muscle or body aches, new loss of taste or smell, cough), they will need a negative Covid test to return to school, and symptoms must have significantly improved (including no fever for 24 hours without taking fever-reducing medication). Please call the school and email a copy of your student’s negative test results to your school’s nurse or health technician. (Your child may not need testing if symptoms are from a documented, chronic health condition. Please check with your school’s nurse or health technician).
*If your student has tested positive for Covid in the past 90 days, please use the rapid antigen test option, as a PCR test may show positive for up to three months.
If your student develops any of the above symptoms while at school, rapid antigen testing may be available. A parent will be notified first, and a Test to Stay/Testing Permission form must be completed. If the test is negative, students are still required to go home and may return when symptoms have significantly Improved and no fever for 24 hours without taking fever reducing medication, per Department of Health guidance.
