8th & 9th GRADE BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT – 8th & 9th Grade Parents & Guardians - we have our BTSN this Thursday night! Please look for an email to your inbox with the invitation & schedule for the evening. Please see here for the invitation as well - 2024-2025 8th and 9th Grade Back to School Night Letter.docx
PARENT & GUARDIAN VOLUNTEER SURVEY - Thank you to everyone who has already signed up and looking for ways to support the Holicong community. We will keep the survey open until this Friday, September 27th and then review the information and distribute to our team to start planning! Please click on the link above if you are still interested in "Getting in the Game!"
PSSA & KEYSTONE SCORE REPORTS - These went home on Friday and are also available on the Parent Portal.
PARENT COUNCIL - Thank you to everyone who attended our 1st Parent Council meeting. The video recording and powerpoint of the presentation are now available here - Parent Resources / Parent Council 2024-2025 (cbsd.org).
STUDENT ACTIVITIES FAIR - Many of the Holicong clubs are "up and running" and we are going to have our Student Activities Fair on Friday, October 4 during I & E. This way we will have a full audience and allow our club sponsors time to create videos to highlight each club in more detail. Please see here for our current listing and information on how students can start a club at Holicong! Student Activities / Activities Overview (cbsd.org)
STUDENT HANDBOOK REMINDER – A reminder to all students, parents, and guardians that students that the students were provided a free student handbook the first day of school. Students are required to have the handbook with them as it is used for a variety of purposes including a sign out for students leaving class, HW & assignment record, and other school activities. Please see students SMART goal completed last week in I & E so you are aware of and can assist with completing this goal.
CERT & SAFETY – We will be conducting our I Love U Guys, ALICE, and other safety and security drills this week. The safety and security of our students and staff is our primary focus at Holicong and we will be reviewing our drills on a monthly basis.
AM & PM PICKUP and DROPOFF REMINDER – The dropoff and pickup process is going well after the first week of school. We have noticed a few things from a safety and security focus that we wanted to address here. This is where we need everyone to please follow these protocols to ensure that our students know we are working together and enforcing the same expectations.
AM Dropoff - Please drop off students in the lanes designated next to the tennis courts. You will see we have opened up both doors and hope this allows for the traffic to move more quickly. Please do not drop off in the front of Holicong as this is our staff parking lot, crosswalk traffic for our students from Holicong to East, and special needs students.
- AM/PM - We have noticed that students are getting dropped off or picked up at Holicong road and walking across bus and parent/staff traffic. We cannot tell if these are always Holicong or CB East parents or siblings but please do not have students walk to Holicong road for pickup as this is a safety concern for us. We realize that traffic is busy at the AM/PM time but all of our procedures are in place for student safety as the primary concern. Please reach out to us with any questions and have included our maps below again as a resource.
CHIP APPLICATION & FREE and REDUCED LUNCH – We are encouraging our parents & guardians to review and complete the free and reduced or Children’s Health Insurance Program if you need financial or medical assistance. Please reach out to Mrs. Irrera if you have questions!
MySchoolApps - Home Page – Application for Free & Reduced Lunch
Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) (pa.gov) – Link to application and resources to learn more about this program.
COLONIAL CORES & EXPECTATIONS – It was a great first week with students as we reviewed basic overview of expectations, policies, and procedures and following up this week as noted above. We have created the Colonial Core page on our website for our community to access the overview of the Colonial Cores and what we teach and the expectations we have for students and all of us in a variety of settings. We will continue to model and revisit these throughout the year!

Committed to an Inclusive Environment for Students with Disabilities
At Central Bucks, our mission is to equip every student, regardless of ability or need, with academic and problem-solving skills essential for personal growth, responsible citizenship and continuous learning. In recent years, the district has been working to create a continuum of special education services and programs in all schools to ensure students with disabilities can be educated in their home schools and alongside their peers, to the maximum extent possible, rather than transported to schools or locations outside their home school. Read more on the CBSD Pupil Services homepage.
Information on Title IX
The 2024 Title IX regulations enhance protections against sexual harassment and gender identity discrimination. CBSD is dedicated to ensuring an environment free from discrimination due to race, age, religion, sex, gender identity, disability and any other classification protected by state or federal law. We uphold Title IX, prohibiting sex-based discrimination and harassment. Updated Title IX regulations, approved in the summer of 2024, emphasize stronger protections for students, particularly regarding sexual harassment and gender identity discrimination. Parents and guardians with inquiries should contact their building principal or Alyssa Wright, Title IX coordinator, at 267-893-2060 or alwright@cbsd.org. More information

During the 2024-2025 school year, CBSD invites students to draw inspiration from CBSD's "Portrait of a Graduate" to create an original design to display on the lock screens of district laptops and ClearTouch panels. The winning artwork will be featured on CBSD screens each month for all students, faculty and staff to see! Submissions for the first round of the competition are due today, Sept. 20. The winning student artist will also receive a prize. Students can submit their designs based on each month's Portrait of a Graduate theme. More details and how to submit.

Regular School Attendance is Critical for Student Success and Well-Being
As we begin the 2024-25 school year, CBSD wishes to remind families of important information regarding attendance. Pennsylvania's school laws, like Act 138 of 2016 and the updated Act 16, outline what is required for mandatory school attendance and procedures to follow when students are absent or late. Learn more
Create a Meal Payment Account for Your Student on MySchoolBucks
CBSD utilizes the online platform MySchoolBucks for school meal payments, making it easy to oversee a child's meal choices and maintain their account balance. It is important that an account is created for every student, regardless of whether they take part in school meals or not. You can access MySchoolBucks to view and/or set up an account for your student(s) here. To set up an account, you will need your child(ren)'s student identification number(s), which can be found in the Parent Portal.
