Community Opportunities
Good morning!
I'm a professor at UMN, and I'm surveying Minnesota small business owners to understand how they think about government and community. My collaborator (CCed) and I think small business owners are extremely important and often misunderstood and/or ignored. The surveys will support our book, which will tell small business owners’ stories and help the public understand them.
So far, we have mainly heard from businesses in Hennepin and Ramsey counties. That underrepresents businesses in rural counties and businesses outside Minneapolis and Saint Paul. We would like to fix that and make sure that their voices are heard so our book reflects all Minnesota small businesses.
We’d greatly appreciate it if you could share this link with your communities, through newsletters or social media or however else you communicate. The survey is taken online and is entirely anonymous. Along with the survey, participating small business owners can enter themselves into a random drawing for gift cards and volunteer to participate in follow-up interviews in the spring. The link is here: https://z.umn.edu/sbo2 and below there is university-approved ad language you can use if you’d like.
.
Take care, and stay warm,
Jane (and Andrew)
