Principal's Message
Greeting families,
This week's newsletter is again full of information.
This past week, you should have received a district parent survey for you to fill out. This survey is another way for the district to open communication channels with all our families, but it also impacts the school's accountability. It is the school's goal to have the highest number of positive responses in the district, so please, keep our school informed about what we can do to get an agreed or strongly agreed answer in that survey. I appreciate real-time feedback as the means to pivot towards excellence quickly.
Our PTO is collecting donations, and our goal is to have 100% membership. This committee's goals are centered around building a strong sense of community while supporting our staff and students. Please read more about ways you can volunteer for their activities. We still need three more cars to participate in the trunk or treat, so please let us know if you can help make this event a success. If you cannot, there is another form in the PTO section to express your interest in helping with other activities.
We need a volunteers to help us with Face Painting and/or Hanna Designs.
Attendance also plays an essential role in our school's accountability. I kindly ask you to prioritize school over other events if possible. Good attendance is tight to high academic success. I encourage you to schedule doctor appointments in the afternoons. Our attendance rate is 93% this quarter, and our goal is to grow to 97%. Thanks for your help with this matter.
Last, please complete the photo release form if you have not done it yet, as it will help us expedite our school promotion efforts.
I hope you all had a great weekend, and I look forward to seeing you bright and early on Monday morning.
If you have questions or comments, please do not hesitate and ask.
Thanks for choosing us!
Kind Regards,
Roberto Gonzalez

September Attendance Awareness Month
September is Attendance Awareness Month, a time for individuals and organizations to learn about attendance issues, absenteeism, and the effects attendance can have on academic performance and success.
School attendance is essential to academic success, but too often students, parents, and schools don’t realize how quickly absences, excused or unexcused, can add up to academic trouble. Chronic absence— missing just 18 days per school year— can lead to third graders being unable to master reading, sixth graders failing courses, and ninth-graders dropping out of high school.
