News and Notes
I hope you had a wonderful three-day weekend!
Thank you for everyone who participated in the Gertrude Hawk fundraiser! We greatly appreciate it!
On February 12th, three of our students presented essays at the St. Bartholomew's MLK prayer service. These students won the MLK essay contest that was associated with this prayer service:
Carl Nagamos- Overall Winner
Kaylee Casado- Honorable Mention
Alana Durham- Honorable Mention
They did a beautiful job and made SMS very proud!
Have a fabulous day,
Ms. Kazan
Lent
Last Wednesday, our students received Ashes during the Ash Wednesday Mass. Ash Wednesday is the first day of the Season of Lent. Click below for a family Lent calendar from the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. This calendar has things to do each day with your family to become closer to God. During Lent, we do not always need to “give something up” We can “give up” our time, help, attention, and alms to help others.
Registration
We have now opened registration to new students. If you intend to register for the next school year, but you have not already done so, please send in the registration as soon as possible. We have a number of grades that are near capacity, and I would not want to inadvertently give away your place to a new family. If you have questions or need registration materials for younger children, please contact Mrs. Z.
