News for Bay Port High School Alumni & Friends
Welcome, Proud Pirates!
May 2024
Bay Port High School has a rich tradition of excellence in the Howard-Suamico community, Northeast Wisconsin, and beyond. We are grateful for our proud alumni who live out the vision, mission, and core values of the Howard-Suamico School District each and every day.
The Pirate Nation newsletter is designed to engage, connect, and inspire HSSD alumni and friends. Please contact Howard-Suamico Education Foundation Executive Director Nicole Smith with any feedback or story ideas. We want to hear from you!
Shad Loch, Class of 2000
Shad Loch, Bay Port 2000, is a coach, outdoorsman, and founder of a non-profit organization. Shad is the agency owner of Bayland Insurance Group, and moved his office to Suamico in 2023 to be closer to his home and clients.
Shad has been a Bay Port youth wrestling coach for eight years. After a few years of recruiting, last year was the first year of having a girls-only wrestling group. In his free time, Shad also coaches softball.
As the founder and president of the non-profit organization Take’Em Outdoors, kids with life-threatening illnesses and combat wounded veterans are given the opportunity to spend time outside. Shad plans the events, registers participants, runs trips, and coordinates fundraisers. The organization has no paid administrators, with 100% of donations going to support the mission.
Shad was the first person in his family to attend and graduate from college. “While I was not always the best student, I tried hard and got extra help when needed,” said Shad. “Without all of my great teachers, coaches, and the Howard-Suamico community, I doubt I would be as successful.”
Jenna Rousseau, Class of 2003
Jenna Rousseau, Bay Port 2003, knew she was interested in a law-related career since high school. “As a senior at Bay Port, I had the opportunity to participate in the co-op program and worked at the Brown County District Attorney’s Office,” said Jenna. “It was a great experience and inspired me to pursue a law-related career.”
After high school graduation, Jenna attended Marquette University and earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminology and Law Studies. After graduating from Marquette University Law School, she returned home and currently resides in Suamico with her husband and son. Jenna is a Shareholder with the law firm of Renning, Lewis & Lacy, s.c.
Jenna’s favorite part of her job is helping clients work through and resolve complicated matters. Her firm represents many school districts across the state of Wisconsin, and she also represents clients in the areas of real estate/property law, employer-side employment law, business/contracts, and civil litigation.
Jenna feels she received a well-rounded education from HSSD and enjoyed her time learning from many wonderful educators.
