Dear Families,
I suppose it makes sense, with Thanksgiving right around the corner, that this month's Principal Update focuses primarily on gratitude. It has been a fun, busy last few weeks, and we have a lot to be thankful for!
First, thank you to the room parents and their cadre of volunteers for all of the planning and preparation around the Halloween celebrations! That is such a fun day for students, and that fun really is dependent on the hard work of our parent community.
Thank you!
Next, we are in the process of wrapping up the Turkey Trot (keep those donations flowing!!). As our one major fundraiser each year, there is a fair amount of pressure on making sure that event is successful. This year we added to that pressure by transitioning to a new PTO team and new event leadership. Well, it could not have gone better! We appreciate all of the family members who turned out to volunteer and to cheer on students as they ran.
Thank you!
Finally, we just finished an election season that included a bond proposal asking for nearly $780 million to support schools. While that bond obviously supports students and staff district wide, it will bring exciting changes to our school specifically. Whether you served on the bond committee, talked it up in the community, voted in support, or even just put a yard sign in your yard, you made a difference.
Thank you!
We also want to take a moment to recognize students who earned awards this past month. Students were celebrated for their accomplishments in 4 areas; Academic Achievement (Mountain Top Award), Academic Effort (Lynx Spirit Award), Behavior (5B Master Award), and Citizenship.

What a fun Turkey Trot day!
Turkey Trot was a great success this year! Please keep your donations coming so we can fund all of the things that make Blue Mountain a great school!
We are so close to the goal!
ONLY $10,000 MORE TO GO!
We are THISCLOSE to reaching our goal of $60,000!
Thank you to everyone who has donated to Turkey Trot to get us to this point. Please keep donations coming in through THURSDAY NOV 21, so we can do a big reveal at the prize assembly!
Current class leaderboards have Ms. Holladay's second graders holding on firmly to the first place spot, with Mr. Loughlin's 5th graders and Mr. Reeves' 4th graders neck and neck (by a mere $5!) for second place!
To help us reach our goal of $60,000, you can donate through Pledgestar or by sending in donations using the envelopes sent home in Thursday folders. You can also check out the classroom stats and follow along with how much we raise on the Pledgestar website! You can find more info about Turkey Trot, including prize breakdowns, on our website!
Our goal of $60,000 funds so many important things for the school like every field trip, enrichment activities, programs like Square State Skate in PE, paraprofessional staff, and MORE! Thank you for your support! We couldn't do it without you!
PTO Spirit Night at Cane's - November 20th
Robotics at Altona Middle School!
Altona Middle School is excited to invite Blue Mountain students to our Rattler Roundup VEX VRC Robotics Tournament on Saturday, December 7, from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm! This is a fun-filled day of robotics and teamwork!
All students are welcome, but our 5th-grade VIPs will get a little extra fun—they’ll receive a special swag bag and some exclusive insights into the event!
We’ve included a sign-up form to make it easy for interested students to register.
Thanks for joining us in inspiring the next generation of innovators!
Lost & Found - Names in belongings really help!
Please take a moment to put your student's name in their cold weather items - coats, jackets, hats, gloves, etc. We can quickly and easily reunite items with students if their name is written in there somewhere. It really does make a difference. We are entering the months where our Lost & Found grows by the day!
Please come in any time to see if your missing items are in the shelves or on the hangers!
Support Education While Cheering on the CU Buffs!
This football season, you can support the St. Vrain Valley Schools Education Foundation while enjoying a CU Buffs game at Folsom Field!
