Emerson Update 03/07/25
13 Days Until Spring!!!
EMERSON MIDDLE SCHOOL MISSION
PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE 03/07/25
Dear Emerson Families,
A quick reminder that Daylight Savings Time begins this weekend! Please remember to "spring forward" and set your clocks ahead one hour. We know our students may not be thrilled about losing an hour of sleep, but we can look forward to enjoying an extra hour of daylight after school. And speaking of sunshine, we hear temperatures will be nearing 60 degrees next week - how exciting!
This week, our counselors met with our current 7th graders to explain the course selection process for next year. Please take some time to discuss these important choices with your student, as selections are due on March 14th.
We also want to extend a sincere thank you to everyone who participated in parent-teacher conferences this week. We truly value our partnership with you, and appreciate your dedication to our students' success. It truly takes a village!
With Eagle Pride,
Bruce Rivera

March is Reading Month
In honor of March is Reading Month, the student Library Crew decided to make Eagle Time in the library a Relaxation and Read time! With dim lights and low music, students are able to bring what they want to make their time cozy (blanket, a stuffed animal etc). We are also collecting books for our Book Blast which will occur right after Spring Break!
Mythology
Book Blast!
The Emerson Library accepts donations of new and used books, games, legos, puzzles, craft supplies (including new and used greeting cards), leftover decorating items such as streamers and balloons, and items that could be used as student prizes and giveaways (students loved the beanie babies that were donated this year!). We also would accept individually wrapped snacks for book discussions.

🩺 Not Feeling Well? Here's a Checklist...
Student Handbook and Code of Conduct
Emerson Student Handbook & Code of Conduct
- This has been updated for the 2024-20254 school year.
- It can be accessed HERE.
- Please partner with us by reminding students that cell phones and electronics should be "AWAY FOR THE DAY"!
- All students must keep bags and backpacks in their lockers.
- We do not allow Hats and/or Hoodies to be worn during the school day.
A few key things to note:
The Livonia Parent Advisory Committee (LPAC) seeks parent representation from each Livonia Special Education Program. Parent representative volunteers have a child/children with a disability(ies). The LPAC also provides advisory input on matters regarding improvement of Special Education services within our school district.
Our Facebook page shares information of interest to our families and students.
Here, you will find electronic flyers for programs and events geared toward kids!
We hope that you enjoy the many offerings from around our great community!
If you have a program that you'd like to advertise, please email your flyer to Stacy Jenkins at sjenkins3@livoniapublicschools.org for approval. We follow a set of guidelines for approval and are only able to accept flyers for non-profit organizations that benefit our local children.
Enjoy!
Emerson Clubs
Emerson Middle School has several clubs where students can connect with their peers, learn a new skill, or simply hang out with friends. We've had a volleyball club, robotics club, GSA club, walking club, Pokemon club and homework club. We would love to offer something for everyone! Our club list is always growing, and we're always open to new ideas. If your student has a dream club in mind or if you'd like to be an awesome advisor, let us know! Joining a club is a great way to make new friends, learn new skills, and have a blast!
