Work Hard. Be Kind. InspiredREAMS!
Principal Update
- First week of school is in the books! What a great week it was (except that Monday afternoon storm;)
- Thank you for your support, patience and understanding as we navigate transportation and traffic challenges! The first few weeks of school are always the most difficult for our transportation department, hang in there...it will get better!
- School Hours
- 9:25-3:55
- Parent Drop off will begin at 9:05
- As a reminder, all students are to attend school every day, including our Pre K and K students. Please contact the office or your student's teacher if they are absent.
- Please remind your students to bring their charged Chromebooks to school. Chromebooks and phones should remain in bookbags on the school buses. Phones should always remain in bookbags.
- Please update ParentVue with transportation information for this school year.
- Friday, August 30th and Monday, September 2nd are school holidays for the Labor Day weekend.
- All students can choose breakfast and lunch free of charge again this year!
- All activities are posted on our Reams School Calendar available on our website. Please check out our website.
- Any address changes must be provided to the school office. Lives with Forms and Yearly leases should also be updated.
- Please join the PTA!
- Please follow us on Social Media. Our accounts will be super active this year with lots of information and fun! Facebook and Instagram links are at the bottom of this newsletter.
Lion King
The word is out, our BIG Disney production for the year will be LION KING!
Our amazing music teacher, Mrs. Rioux, has already passed out forms to interested 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students. They are due August 30th!
Arrival and Dismissal
Arrival:
- Please do not enter the drop off line until 8:45 a.m. Please continue to follow the path through the parking lot to the drop off line.
- Students must remain in vehicles until you are adjacent to the sidewalk. Staff are there to assist if needed.
- Students need to have backpacks ready and be ready to get out of vehicles quickly.
- Please do not pass parked vehicles in the line unless you are waved around by a staff member.
- Please stay in your vehicle and ask staff for assistance with your child if needed.
- The tardy bell rings at 9:25 a.m. Please be on time. Starting September 3rd, we will ask parents to sign in their tardy students.
- Please do not enter the pick up line until 3:45 p.m. Dismissal will not begin until 3:55 p.m.
- Thank you for being patient the first week of school as we make sure everyone has their car tag number and it is displayed in the car. If you do not have the green car tag displayed for parent pick-up, you will be directed to park and walk into the school to pick up your student(s). If you need extras, please let Mrs. Sheehan know at Kerensa_Sheehan@ccpsnet.net and she will make you more.
PLEASE notify your child's teacher and/or the office of any dismissal changes. These notifications need to be done before 3:30!
Please do not pick up students after 3:40 p.m. unless there is an emergency. Calling students to the office in the last bit of the day creates a disruption to the learning environment.
School Safety Information
- All visitors must sign in and show their ID to visit our school.
- Students will participate in a number of safety drills, including fire, tornado, lockdown, and earthquake throughout the year. No one may enter the building nor will phones be answered during any safety drill.
- We will conduct a fire drill this week.
ParentVue Update
Transportation planning is underway for the coming school year. All families are asked to update student transportation information by logging into ParentVUE. Easy-to-follow directions for accessing ParentVUE are online, and your student’s school can provide additional assistance.
Transport type: How will your student travel to and from school? Within ParentVUE, choose the method that your student will use most of the time.
Addresses: There are two ways to update your student’s address:
- School registrar: A student’s home address can only be entered by the registrar at the student’s school.
- ParentVUE: Parents/guardians can make changes to transportation information by logging into ParentVUE, clicking the student’s name, then clicking on student info.
Alternative addresses are places students stay before or after school on a regular basis (for example: alternating custodial parent addresses). Families use ParentVUE to update alternative addresses and pickup/drop-off days as often as needed.
The My Stop web and mobile application allows you to locate your child’s bus via GPS tracking to see where the bus is and its estimated arrival to your bus stop. The bus’s location is updated on the map every five seconds so there are no surprises in the event of a delay. Here’s how to access My Stop:
- Via app: Search for My Stop in the app store and select “Versatrans My Stop.” There are several My Stop apps; choose the Versatrans version.
- Via computer: chesterfield.tylertech.com/elinkrp/
Questions: Call the Transportation Department at 804-748-1656.

No further action is required of you. Your child(ren) will be able to participate in these meal programs without having to pay a fee or submit an application.
- Students will pick up breakfast upon arrival and take it to their classroom to eat. Lunch will be served in the cafeteria daily. Parents may visit for lunch and sit at the parent table.
Summer Learning
- Returning students received a summer learning bag complete with a summer choice board and a book for their grade level (including CBG). Hopefully you have had a chance to read and work through the choice board. If not, it's not too late! Students who turn in a completed choice board will earn a reward!
