March had some great events that took place with our students accomplishing great things and the month of April will also have a lot going on. The paint jobs made a huge difference to the appearance of our campus! Thank you to all of the students and parents who volunteered their time. A special thank you to Sandeep Baweja who took the lead on this day and organized it so that we got a lot done in a short amount of time!

CANYON ROBOTICS
The Canyon Robotics Teams competed in the Vex Robotics State Championships in Los Angeles this month. Our three teams, were among the top 90 teams from the Southern California region vying for one of the only 17 spots to qualify a team for the Vex Robotics World Championships in Dallas, TX this May. All three teams ranked well in their qualifying matches – Team C at 19th, Team A at 23rd and Team B at 27th. Team C ranked 3rd place in the overall skills category, securing their invite to the Vex Robotics World Championships! Teams A and B are keeping their fingers crossed for one of the remaining wildcard invites that will go out this month!
There are over 6000 teams worldwide in the Vex Robotics rankings for the 2024-2025 season. Our Canyon teams have finished the season ranking worldwide as follows: Team C – 32nd, Team A – 262nd and Team B – 508th. Southern California is one of the most competitive regions in all of the robotics world, so we are extremely proud of their ranking within California also! Out of the 450 teams in California Canyon’s season ending rankings were: Team C – 11th, Team A – 50th and Team B – 73rd. We are quite proud of these three teams and the fact that we have sent at least one team every year to the World Championships since we formed the teams just four years ago!
STATE TESTING FOR 11th GRADERS
Our 11th graders will be taking the SBA during the month of April. These are important tests that affect our school's dashboard. This year's junior class has the challenge of topping our current seniors who had the best performance on state testing in school history last year! Testing is broken up over 3 weeks:
April 14 - 18 English Test (Students test with their English teacher)
April 21 - 24 Math Test (Students will test with a Math teacher)
April 28 - May 1 Science Test (Students test with their US History teacher)
These tests are digital so please make sure your student brings their charged device on these days. There are incentives for doing well so please encourage your student to do their best!
CTE PATHWAY FAIR
ATHLETICS
ATHLETICS UPDATE
Our Spring Sports season is well underway and will be wrapping up their spring seasons over the next few weeks. Highlights so far:
SOFTBALL is currently 11-4 and tied for first place in League and ranked #2 in Orange County.
BASEBALL is currently 12-5 and undefeated (4-0) in league. They also have a 5-1 Victory over Villa Park!
BOYS TENNIS is currently 12-3 with some outstanding individual play as well.
GIRLS BEACH VOLLEYBALL is currently 5-3 and has a good chance to qualify for CIF in its FIRST EVER SEASON.
BOYS LACROSSE AND GIRLS LACROSSE are having solid seasons and both have a good chance of making C.I.F. BOYS AND GIRLS SWIM, BOYS AND GIRLS TRACK and BOYS GOLF will all be well represented with some great individuals at League Finals as well as CIF and probably State.
As the regular season winds down in April, I would encourage you to come see these teams play. It wouldn't be surprising to see one or two make a deep run in CIF playoffs if not win a Championship when playoffs start at the end of the month.
